🏠 Home ownership looks very different across Europe.
This map compares the share of people living in owner-occupied homes across European countries using 2024 data. In parts of Central and Eastern Europe, ownership rates are especially high, while several Western European countries have much larger renting populations.
Housing patterns are shaped by property prices, income, mortgage access, inheritance, rental markets, and long-term housing policy.
