After intense nights of work on board, our team successfully completed the final activities of the project.

Long hours, technical challenges and a tight schedule required commitment, teamwork and flexibility until the very last moment - but once again, mission accomplished.

And sometimes, our job gives us a pretty special way to celebrate and rest: stepping off the ship in the morning onto a small private island in the middle of French Polynesia. Not a bad place to recover after a long project!

Behind every successfully completed project there are people, experience and a team willing to go the extra mile to get the job done.

Proud of the work, proud of the team, and ready for the next challenge.

Nous sommes heureux d'annoncer la récente conclusion d'une entente entre ALMACO et Isotex-Pro International Inc. - IPI Isolation, expert québécois en isolation thermique et acoustique, pour les travaux d'installation d'isolation à bord du Polar Max, actuellement en construction au chantier Davie. ⚓

Cette nouvelle collaboration nous permet de nous appuyer sur l'expertise d'un partenaire local reconnu et de mettre en valeur le savoir-faire présent ici même au Québec.

We are pleased to announce the recent agreement between ALMACO and Isotex-Pro International Inc. - IPI Isolation, a Québec-based specialist in thermal and acoustic insulation, for the insulation installation work onboard the Polar Max, currently under construction at Davie Shipbuilding. ⚓

This new collaboration allows us to build on the expertise of a trusted local partner while showcasing the proven know-how available here in Québec.

Happy Baltic Sea Day!

Today, our team in Finland marked the important occasion with treats at the office and a reminder from Sami Jalasjoki and Ines Stenius about why protecting the Baltic Sea is so critical. As one of the world's most unique marine ecosystems, the Baltic Sea is also highly vulnerable, making its preservation a shared responsibility.
To support the cause, ALMACO made a donation to the John Nurminen Foundation. We encourage other companies to do the same and help preserve the Baltic Sea for generations to come.

The project included new cabins, upgraded dining concepts, and transformed guest spaces.

Meet our summer trainees ☀️

This summer, our trainees Charlotta, Kim, Kajus and Aleksi from Finland, and Antoine from France (working in Italy), have taken on real responsibilities, contributed to meaningful projects, and gained valuable hands-on experience across different areas of ALMACO.

From engineering and design to after-sales operations, customer support and business controlling, they've worked closely with colleagues across teams and countries while developing new skills in a supportive and international environment. What has stood out most to many of them is the trust, independence, and responsibility they've been given from day one. Alongside gaining valuable experience, many have described ALMACO's supportive culture and great colleagues as a highlight of their summer.

🔹 Antoine, a Mechanical Engineering student specialising in Naval Architecture, has worked with design modifications, drawing reviews and technical documentation while strengthening his professional and English-language skills in an international environment.

🔹 Kim, studying Marine Engineering, has gained hands-on experience in electrical design, calculations, quotations and project work, while learning how to collaborate with customers and subcontractors.

🔹 Charlotta, an Economics student, is spending her second summer at ALMACO as a Spares Sales Coordinator, gaining valuable experience in customer relationships and business operations.

🔹 Kajus, an Economics student, has supported both Business Controlling and the LCS team, gaining insight into different areas of the business and working with colleagues across countries.

🔹 Aleksi, studying Marine Engineering, has worked with cabin design, applying theory to practice through real design requirements, regulations, fire safety considerations and customer needs.

Their advice to future trainees? Don't be afraid to ask questions, be proactive, and embrace new challenges. Growth happens when you step outside your comfort zone.

A big thank you to all our trainees for their great work this summer. We wish them all the best as they continue their journeys!
