Another stunning morning here in Fiji. As our time left in Fiji slowly counts down we are thankful for the amazing 2 years we spent here.

All too often we have seen courses completed far too quickly... or pool sessions considerably shorter than they should be. In turn, we have also been pressured by clients to complete their course in a far shorter time than is needed, and we refuse to give in each time, no matter how much money they wanted to throw at us.

This article highlights the consequences of not teaching all the PADI skills in an open water course. Each skill is important for the future survival of your students that you will be certifying. As instructors, we have a direct responsibility to these people that have literally put their lives in our hands.

As students, choose your instructors wisely. Get familiar with the skill requirements in the open water course. As instructors, your career and your life is on the line if found in gross negligence in a court case. Is it worth saving 5 or 20 minutes in the course by skipping a life-saving skill? We think not.
