The contract signing marks the commencement of the project's initial phase and paves the way for construction activities to begin shortly.

As part of the occasion, a dedication prayer was conducted at the project site to seek God's blessings and protection upon the contractors, workers, project team, and the site itself as preparations for construction get underway.

The new carriage sawmill will significantly enhance Tropik Wood's processing capabilities for ๐Œ๐š๐ก๐จ๐ ๐š๐ง๐ฒ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ฅ๐š๐ซ๐ ๐ž-๐๐ข๐š๐ฆ๐ž๐ญ๐ž๐ซ ๐๐ข๐ง๐ž ๐ฅ๐จ๐ ๐ฌ, supporting greater efficiency, improved recovery rates, and increased value from Fiji's forestry resources.

The traditional ๐•๐š๐ค๐š๐ฌ๐จ๐›๐ฎ๐๐ฎ๐ซ๐ฎ ๐‚๐ž๐ซ๐ž๐ฆ๐จ๐ง๐ฒ will be conducted in the coming weeks once construction materials and equipment have been mobilized to the site, marking another important milestone in the development of this strategic investment.

Last week, we welcomed the Divisional (CE) Forestry Monitoring team to our mill in Drasa for a monitoring site visit focused on the verification and handling of pine logs harvested from Kadavu.

During the visit, the team observed our log receiving, handling, and processing operations to verify the destination of the harvested logs and ensure compliance with forestry monitoring requirements. Discussions were also held on operational procedures and the importance of maintaining transparency and accountability across the forestry supply chain.

We are pleased to acknowledge the achievement of Uraia Sirisavana, one of our staff members from the Mechanical Department, who recently completed the ๐‘พ๐’†๐’๐’…๐’Š๐’๐’ˆ ๐‘ป๐’“๐’‚๐’…๐’† ๐‘ป๐’†๐’”๐’• ๐‘ช๐’๐’‚๐’”๐’” ๐‘ฐ๐‘ฐ๐‘ฐ conducted by Fiji National University NTPC on 19th and 20th March 2026.

Through his dedication and commitment to the trade, Uraia successfully passed both the Theory and Practical examinations and was awarded the National Trade Test Certificate Class III โ€“ Welding.

This accomplishment is a reflection of the hard work, discipline, and effort he has continued to put into developing his skills and experience in the welding industry. Trade qualifications such as these are an important step in strengthening professional standards and creating more opportunities for growth within the industry.
