This Saturday, 20 June 2026 at 8:30 a.m., the Vatukoula 2026 Employee Soccer Tournament will continue with another exciting round of matches as the second week of competition gets underway!

This week, 10 teams will battle it out for a place in the next stage, with only 8 teams advancing to the quarterfinals. The matches will be held at the Vatukoula Gold Mine Rugby Field (Theodore Park).

We sincerely invite all employees, their families, and members of the community to come and enjoy the action. A variety of food and drink vendors will be available on site, offering delicious snacks and refreshments throughout the day.

Come along to support your favorite team, enjoy the vibrant atmosphere, and be part of this exciting football event. We look forward to seeing you there!

Vatukoula Response to Recent Unsubstantiated Online Rumors

The management of Vatukoula Gold Mines appreciates the support and care of public communities. Regarding recent online accusations against certain staff of the company, the management has taken the matter seriously. An internal investigation committee has been established to conduct formal investigation on the alleged accusation.

Regarding the current construction work at the mine site, it is a Vatukoula reconstruction program to revitalize the aging Vatukoula Gold Mines. Vatukoula Gold Mines has sustained many years of investment losses, the funding for the reconstruction has been entirely from capital injection from company’s parent company Zhaojin Gold. The funding and reconstruction are intended to turn the company around on a sustainable basis, which is of great significance to safeguarding employment and securing long-term development.

As for the sports events and team building activities organized by the company, it is company intention to promote harmonic and happy working environment for all our employees and to enrich the cultural and spiritual lives of our employees and local community members, and they have been well received by our local workforce and the wider community.

In order to enrich employees' extracurricular cultural life, strengthen team cohesion, and create a positive, competitive working atmosphere, the company will launch the first Employee Football Tournament of 2026 this Saturday (June 13). The tournament will feature 10 teams formed from 17 departments across the mine. The opening ceremony and all matches will be held at Theodore Park (the rugby field opposite the police station), and the entire tournament will span four Saturdays.

From 11th May to 18th May 2026, participants from Lion One Metals Limited visited Vatukoula Gold Mines Pte Limited for a collaborative First Aid Rescue Training program. The visit aimed to strengthen workplace safety practices, improve emergency response capabilities, and encourage professional cooperation between the two mining organizations. During the program, participants were welcomed and introduced to the company’s operations through a comprehensive Safety Induction session.

The participants underwent induction training covering the company’s history, policies, procedures, and emergency response systems. The training team, consisting of Mr. Rajeshwar, Mr. Waisale, and Mr. Semi, shared their valuable knowledge and practical experiences in First Aid Rescue Training. The sessions provided an opportunity for participants to learn effective rescue techniques, understand safety responsibilities in mining operations, and exchange ideas and experiences from their respective workplaces. The collaboration also promoted cultural exchange and strengthened professional relationships among the teams.

Throughout the training period, both the facilitators and participants actively contributed to discussions and theoretical learning activities. Participants shared their opinions, workplace experiences, and approaches to emergency preparedness, creating an engaging and informative environment. The theoretical sessions have laid a strong foundation for the upcoming practical training, where participants will further develop their rescue and emergency response skills through hands-on exercises and demonstrations.
