For the past three days, our team has been busy on the ground with the Fiji Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, conducting intensive spot air 💨 quality compliance checks for business houses across the western division 📍.

Led by the newly appointed Compliance Lead, Mr. Nariva’s move to the Ministry is already a game-changer. By bringing in a grounded technical expertise to spearhead compliance is a promising sign: the Ministry is building the regulatory capacity needed to independently verify and enforce environmental compliance standards.

Translating policy into action alongside Mr. Nariva signals the long known era of environmental regulatory laxity in environmental compliance is over. For Fiji, the bar has officially been raised. 🇫🇯

Raise your hand if you’ve been stuck in Suva traffic this week. 🙋

Waimanu Road. Ratu Sukuna Road. Edinburgh drive. Princess Rd. Ratu Dovi Road. The Suva-Nausori corridor. We all know the feeling.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
We're looking for a 2nd or final year university student who's passionate about technical drawing and road engineering design. This part-time internship offers hands-on experience with real-world projects and the potential to transition into a full-time role upon completion of your studies.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:
✓ Currently in 2nd or final year of university (Civil Engineering, Surveying, or related field)
✓ Must be fully competent with AutoCAD 2025
✓ Familiar with road engineering designs and technical drawings
✓ Able to work under minimal supervision
✓ Suva, Fiji based - must be able to report to our Suva office
✓ Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Envirotech Solutions Pacific is seeking a motivated GIS Intern to join our dynamic team working on cutting-edge environmental and geospatial projects across the Pacific.

About the Role:
We're looking for a Degree or Undergraduate student pursuing GIS (Programming pathway) who's passionate about applying geospatial technology to real-world environmental challenges. This part-time position offers hands-on experience with the potential to transition into a full-time role.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct field data collection and create detailed mapping outputs
- Operate drones for shallow water bathymetry and topographic surveys
- Process and analyze geospatial data for environmental projects
Support the team in various GIS-related tasks

Essential Requirements:

- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, or related science field
- Must be proficient in ESRI ArcGIS
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Science background required

Preferred Qualifications:
- Python programming skills
- Interest in drone technology and surveying
- Enthusiasm for fieldwork and environmental applications
