Congratulations to Cricket Fiji and the Cricket for Good youth coaches who recently completed an 8-day competency training program.

The Cricket for Good program is supported by Australia through Team Up and uses cricket to promote gender equality and the elimination of violence in communities.

Meet Rina Leiloma, a game development officer with NRL in Fiji, actively contributing to the League for Life program supported by Australia’s Team UpProgram.

For the past two years Rina has been working alongside her colleagues, using rugby league to promote gender equality, social cohesion, and enhance participation people with disabilities in Fijian communities.

As Rina observed that through sports, she has seen young girls and boys gain more confidence which has translated to their progress in the classroom. She believes by giving children of all abilities the chance to participate and feel part of a team and community, it helps them succeed in other areas of their lives.

Well done Rina on making a difference through sport!
