The Mont-Blanc Tunnel will officially reopen on Friday, December 12, 2025, at approximately 17:00.
The reopening is subject to successful functional tests of the safety systems.

Important Notice: ROLA Freiburg–Novara Service Discontinuation (December 2025)

We have been notified by RAlpin, the operator of the ROLA route between Freiburg and Novara, that this service will be discontinued from 13 December 2025.

The operator has advised that the decision is due to an unexpectedly large number of restrictions on the rail network, which have significantly limited operational capacity, making it no longer viable to continue running this route.

Important changes coming to Swiss Tolls 🇨🇭 --> End of 2G

We would like to inform you about important changes that will impact the Toll Payments in the near future.

Due to the phasing out of 2G Technology across Europe - starting first in June 2026 in Switzerland - many Toll devices are becoming obsolete.

What is the solution ? Telepass K1

⚠️If you are driving frequently in Switzerland, you will need to exchange the current SAT devices by the new 4G device Telepass K1.

SEPTEMBER-DECEMBER 2025 - RECONSTRUCTION OF THE TUNNEL VAULT OF MONT BLANC

From the beginning of September to mid-December 2025 - more than 60 years after the construction of this exceptional infrastructure - the Mont Blanc Tunnel will be going on with the reconstruction of two portions of the tunnel vault, making it one of the first major European tunnels to undertake deep renovation work on its structure.

This project will require one total closure of the tunnel for a duration of 15 consecutive weeks:
from 5 p.m. on Monday 1, September 2025
to 5 p.m. on Friday 12, December 2025

During this period, please use the recommended alternative routes.
