Conversational Design of software will change the fundamentals of how we design apps and websites. Not only will we use more voice. Visual interfaces will also change. Unfortunately we are slow at paradigm changes, so the people betting on overnight revolution, will be disappointed.

Katty and I will be heading to Portugal in a couple of days for Web Summit 17. Is web becoming too mainstream to be interesting with 60,000 people going there, or will it be great. We will see soon!

Why are websites and apps made by big business so terrible, miles behind my favourite iPhone apps? I've always been puzzled by why Enterprise IT is so far behind Consumer Technology. I think we've spotted an important behaviour in Enterprises that over time might be responsible for such a big gap.

We just got back from a successful web banking project in Krakow, Poland.
We probably saved the customer an extra month of design and development for the internal team.

Equipped with a great prototype made together with the Banks management team we drove there for 4 weeks onsite. Working as external coaches, we helped improve the interaction design, pick the right way to use the technology and gave everyone a clear picture of what we were building.
The time there was terrific. It was a young team that knew what they were doing, and where to go for drinks afterwards! They took us for the students tour of Krakow, "Na zdrowie” (Cheers).
As with many teams their strong side was server programming, so we helped the bank with choices for Design and Development for the Web User Interface based on project timeframe, target audience and application functionality rather than a straight copy of “what did we do last time" and made sure the team was on the same page
I think the team really enjoyed the process as much as we did!!
