En el 2026, conversamos con Manuel Romero Velázquez, Director de I+D de HORTIFRUT, sobre los retos y oportunidades que representa la automatización para la agricultura especializada. 🚜🤖

Desde HORTIFRUT, la robotización no se percibe como una tendencia futura, sino como una necesidad estratégica para responder a los desafíos reales del campo.

💬 «Necesitamos tecnologías robustas, capaces de adaptarse a las condiciones reales de campo, no solo a entornos ideales».

Para Manuel, uno de los principales retos sigue siendo la gestión de la mano de obra, especialmente en tareas de alto impacto operativo como la recolección y el transporte interno durante campaña.

👉 Automatizar estas operaciones permitiría no solo ganar eficiencia y estabilidad, sino también mejorar el bienestar de los trabajadores, permitiéndoles centrarse en tareas de mayor valor.

HORTIFRUT lleva años explorando soluciones robóticas y ya desarrolla pilotos con distintas plataformas autónomas. Incluso en 2019, la compañía lanzó en Chile su propio proyecto de robot agrícola: HortiRover.

Las primeras impresiones son positivas, pero Manuel insiste en un punto clave:

💬 «La tecnología puede funcionar, pero aún necesita mucho desarrollo aplicado a la realidad de nuestro día a día en el campo».

Fiabilidad, conectividad estable, facilidad de uso y adaptación a las condiciones reales de explotación siguen siendo factores decisivos para acelerar la adopción de la agrorrobótica.

Ese es precisamente el propósito del GOFAR Tour: reunir a agricultores, fabricantes y expertos para probar soluciones concretas y construir juntos el futuro de la agricultura autónoma.

En el 2026, hablamos con Daniel Garcia Llobet, Responsable de Viticultura de Precisión e Innovación en RAIMAT, sobre cómo la tecnología está transformando el sector agrícola. 🚜🤖

Su visión es clara: la robótica agrícola ya no es una opción de futuro, sino una evolución que el sector debe integrar de forma progresiva y realista.

💬 «El sector agrícola está adoptando esta tecnología y no podemos permitirnos ignorarla».

Para Daniel, el verdadero reto no es solo automatizar tareas, sino encontrar soluciones capaces de adaptarse a las particularidades de cada explotación, mejorando al mismo tiempo la eficiencia, la trazabilidad y la gestión del trabajo en campo.

Entre las prioridades que identifica:

👉 Responder a los desafíos relacionados con la mano de obra

👉 Ganar eficiencia en las operaciones

👉 Reforzar la trazabilidad dentro de la cadena agroalimentaria

A la hora de invertir en robótica, insiste en un punto esencial: la tecnología debe probarse en condiciones reales antes de ser adoptada.

💬 «Es importante introducir estas soluciones poco a poco y comprobar sobre el terreno si realmente aportan valor a la explotación».

También subraya que el sector aún necesita avanzar en robustez y fiabilidad para acelerar una adopción más amplia de estas herramientas.

Ese es precisamente el objetivo del GOFAR Tour: conectar innovación y realidad de campo, permitiendo a los agricultores descubrir, probar y proyectarse hacia el futuro de la agricultura autónoma.

This summer, Ag Progress Days will host the FIRA Robotics Village of the GOFAR Tour, a dedicated space for agricultural robotics with a dedicated village 🇺🇸

“Pennsylvania has made agriculture, robotics and AI technology, energy, life sciences, and advanced manufacturing core pillars of its economic development strategy,” Kevin Dowling, Managing Director of the Robotics Factory at Innovation Works.

Over 3 days, the Robotics Village will ⤵️

En el Field Day Spain 2026, nos reunimos con Antonio Domene, director general de MOYCA Grapes, para conocer su visión sobre el futuro de la robótica agrícola.

Desde el terreno, su mensaje es claro: lo que los agricultores necesitan ahora son soluciones prácticas y escalables que demuestren su valor en las operaciones diarias.

💬 «No queremos más proyectos piloto, queremos ver robots trabajando en condiciones reales, dando resultados».

Para Antonio, la automatización no se trata solo de reducir costes, sino de liberar tiempo para mejorar las operaciones y la toma de decisiones. Las tareas repetitivas son el primer objetivo, pero el panorama general es integrar la robótica en toda la cadena de valor.

A la hora de invertir en robótica agrícola, el retorno de la inversión es importante, pero no es el punto de partida. La fiabilidad, la calidad y la escalabilidad son lo primero. La rentabilidad viene después.

Y hay un requisito clave que destaca:

👉 La asistencia 24/7 es imprescindible para las explotaciones que operan las 24 horas del día.

Antonio, que actualmente está probando varios robots autónomos y autoguiados, destaca un cambio fundamental: el valor real no reside en las máquinas independientes, sino en los sistemas totalmente integrados que encajan a la perfección en los procesos existentes.
