The Nor-Feed Award is an initiative of the company Nor-Feed, rewarding a veterinarian thesis (or a thesis of veterinary interest) dealing with the functional properties of characterized plants, plant extracts or plant-derived products and their applications in animal health and/or production. The contest is open to young scientists from around the world and is endowed with a prize of € 5.000.

[GOOD PRACTICES ON AMR] Nor-Spice AB chosen as an effective solution by European organisations to tackle AMR

🔎 Antimicrobial Resistance ( ) is currently a huge concern for both humans and animals, and will become a major threat in the upcoming years. The World Health Organisation estimates the number of deaths related to will reach 10 million in 2050.

Nor-Feed is aware of that challenge and works actively to reduce the use of Antimicrobial Growth Promoters (AGP) on farms, a main cause of bacterial resistance. Nor-Spice AB is a natural prebiotic that can replace AGP by modulating and strengthening the intestinal microbiota 🍊

[MITECONTROL PROJECT]

During the project, three different strategies were applied on different pilot farms across Europe in partnership with the Experimental Poultry Centre. Our product Nor-Mite is a part of the experimental trials, as a red mite repellent solution.
