Air Tahiti has taken delivery of a new ATR 72-600 featuring an ATR HighLine All-Business Class cabin.

With 26 individual seats in a 1-by-1 layout, every passenger has direct aisle access, increased personal space, and dedicated storage. The cabin’s executive-style ceiling also creates a more spacious, light-filled environment.

The aircraft will enter service on 8 December as part of Air Tahiti Signature, connecting Tahiti with destinations including Bora Bora and Raiatea-Tahaa.

For Air Tahiti, this is the beginning of a new premium travel experience across French Polynesia. For ATR, it shows how the ATR 72-600 can take on new roles while continuing to deliver the operational flexibility that makes it so well suited to island connectivity.

Nearly four decades after the partnership began, Air Tahiti and ATR are writing a new chapter together.

The cities that make up "America's Heartland" power some of the world's biggest brands, from NASA missions and FedEx logistics to IBM innovation. However, air connections between these communities haven't kept pace with their economic weight.

Over 1 billion regional trips take place every year across a 15-city region that includes major centers like Pittsburgh, Memphis, and Milwaukee. As airlines prioritized large hubs over the last twenty years, direct regional links steadily disappeared, leaving travelers with long layovers or hours on the road.

To understand actual travel patterns beyond existing flight schedules, we used ATR’s MobilityMonitor, analyzing anonymized mobile data across all modes of transport to map true regional demand, independent of current airline schedules.

40 ATR 72-600s. And thousands of people now on the brink of being connected✈️

Fly91.in has placed a firm order for 40 ATR 72-600 aircraft, contributing to the exponential growth of its ATR fleet from 6 aircraft today to 60 in the next five years, and expanding its network across India’s Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. Deliveries are scheduled between 2027 and 2032, and this order is the largest ATR firm order since 2017.

India is a country of extraordinary distances and connections.
