A special test run, with more than twice the usual number of near-simultaneous collisions, allowed CMS to put the next generation of particle-tracking and identifying algorithms to the test, years before the High-Luminosity LHC comes online.

🚲Today was a very special day just outside the site of the CMS Detector near Cessy, France 🚲

The Tour de France Femmes passed right by the door! CMS members were there to cheer them on as they zoomed past (almost) as quickly as our particles do!

Stage 3 of the race ran from Geneva to Poligny with a length of 156.5km - that’s almost 6 LHCs and a whole bunch of very difficult hills 😲

Incredible work from all the participants - congratulations from CMS!
