A few weeks ago, we were proud to announce that the Pogo 44 had been selected by Yachting World for its “World’s Coolest Yachts” section. We’ve been waiting for the online article to be published so we could finally share it with you.

[Journal de bord] Bienvenue en Polynésie avec La Vie En Bleu

Passionné de voile rapide, ancien pilote automobile de haut niveau, David a fait l’achat, en septembre 2023, d’un Pogo 12.50 : un voilier de course-croisière conçu pour la navigation hauturière. En 60 jours et près de 11 000 milles nautiques, il a mené son monocoque de l’autre côté du globe, en Polynésie française, avec un objectif : développer sa flotte de voiliers haute performance disponibles à la location.

« En octobre 2023, je suis parti de Loctudy. J’ai traversé l’Atlantique avec deux équipières novices : nous avons fait étape aux Canaries, dans les îles Grenadines, en Martinique... En navigation vers le Panama, par 35 nœuds de vent, sous trinquette avec 3 ris dans la GV, le traceur du Pogo 12.50 a enregistré une vitesse fond de 22,8 nœuds. Preuve que mon bateau – Fast Guy – portait déjà parfaitement bien son nouveau nom !"

Depuis, David a fondé "La vie en bleu sailing", une entreprise spécialisée dans les croisières à la voile sur mesure, à bord de voiliers performants. Au programme :

🤿 Plongée, kite, wingfoil, snorkeling, apnée, subwing, stand up paddle
⚓️ Des mouillages mémorables dans les lagons, grâce à la quille relevable du Pogo.

[Logbook] Welcome to Polynesia with La Vie En Bleu Sailing

A passionate high-speed sailor and a former top-level racing driver, David purchased a Pogo 12.50 in September 2023: a cruising sailboat designed for offshore sailing. In 60 days and nearly 11,000 nautical miles, he sailed his monohull halfway around the world to French Polynesia with one goal in mind: to expand his fleet of high-performance yachts available for charter.

“In October 2023, I set sail from Loctudy. I crossed the Atlantic with two novice crew members: we stopped off in the Canary Islands, the Grenadines, Martinique... On our way to Panama, in 35-knot winds, under a staysail with three reefs in the mainsail, the Pogo 12.50’s speed log recorded a ground speed of 22.8 knots. Proof that my boat – Fast Guy – was already living up to its new name perfectly!”

Since then, David has founded ‘La vie en bleu sailing’, a company specialising in customizable cruises aboard high-performance yachts. On the programme:

🤿 Diving, kitesurfing, wingfoiling, snorkelling, freediving, subwing, stand-up paddleboarding

Christian and Monique Bouroullec, founders of Pogo - Chantier Naval Structures, are preparing to set sail aboard the LOXO 40, named Iona in reference to the Scottish island of the same name, for a six-week cruise through the wild landscapes of Scotland and Ireland.

On the itinerary for this trip, which they have named the “IONA TOUR”: the Isles of Scilly, the Scottish lochs, wild anchorages, beautiful sailing… and plenty of adventure.
