We’ve just returned from a short and inspiring getaway in Burgundy. There, they truly highlight the terroir.
From our perspective, Champagne tends more to showcase its iconic houses first:
What do you think? 🤔
We were amazed by the vitality of the vines in Romanée-Conti!
Beautiful vines — strong, powerful — despite their very respectable age (50+ years on average).
What a magnificent sight! 🖼️
We also noticed some lovely similarities with Champagne: in most villages, the same types of diverse cover crops, often based on fava beans and rye. 🌾
Of course, a tasting was in order.
On the menu 🍷: a Regional appellation (€), a Village (€€), a Premier Cru (€€€) and two Grand Crus (€€€€).
🥂 We took a moment to celebrate the job we love so much with our beautiful 2019 vintage bottle, in great company 🤫 and with a stunning view over the village of Vosne-Romanée.
At that moment we realized that microclimates are no myth: for about 3 minutes we were caught in a shower of hail ☔️ that looked like snow ❄️… and then the sun came back out ☀️ 🤔
We came back home with renewed motivation 💪🏼 and feeling incredibly proud of our profession as winegrowers:
Working our land and aging our wines in oak barrels since 2022 in Champagne.
A little like 👍 of support is always appreciated 😇
We would be delighted to welcome you to our tasting space to show you our vineyard and let you discover our Champagnes in person!
