We have a new YouTube interview series - My Life in Improvisation, where we’ll meet the pioneers of our global community!

Here’s a segment of our conversation with David Worm, vocalist, vocal percussionist, songwriter, educator and a founding member of .mcferrin Voicestra. To watch in full, follow the link at

David shares: “You know, Bobby was asked: Are you the originator of this? Are you the keeper of this? (Circlesongs) And he said: No, I’m just a conduit along the way. And he looks at it that way. The music belongs to everyone, and everybody that’s doing their incarnation, variation of it. It’s just furthering it, furthering the joy and the beauty that is unmistakable and undeniable. So, give it away. Give it away now, give it away.”

In Conversation is back with .om next Wednesday 5pm UTC (1pm EDT), live at

Onome (aw naw MAY) leads experiences where voice, creativity, and mindfulness converge. She is a partner artist at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute, where she contributes her performances and trainings across their vast educational programming spectrum.

As a vocalist and educator, Onome incorporates improvisation into her practice as a tool for consciousness expansion, creative expression, and personal development. Next Wednesday we’ll be chatting to live on Instagram!

He shares: “The Singing Village recognizes everyone’s innate musicality and capacity to take part in a musical experience. It acknowledges that the origins of what we now call ‘vocal improvisation’ lie in the cellular memory of humanity and the diverse ancestral musical practices that were part of the fabric of human life on Earth for thousands of years.”

A musical hello from one of 2026 Global Connectors,

Joni NehRita is a composer, performer, facilitator and musician whose work is rooted in valuing human connection & social change. Initially, introduced to improvisation through studying jazz in college, her exploration of it grew far beyond jazz over the years, and it is now a core element of her artistic practice. She believes in its power to cultivate creativity, vulnerability and presence. In February 2020 she gave TEDx Talk called “Improvisation- exploring your untapped potential”, and continues to help groups, classrooms and organizations use vocal improvisation and Música do Círculo to explore new ways of being together

Rhiannon is back for a free and open to all gathering this Sunday on Zoom! You can register on the link at See you at 7pm CET, 2pm EST, 11am PST ✨

Rhiannon shared: “When I created All The Way In, I wanted more time and space to consider how Vocal River might impact a group of singers. In fact the effects have been much more profound than I could have imagined. They do learn a series of forms that make this work solid and adaptable, but they also study community building, personal responsibility, connection to their ancestors, and begin to build relationships and collaborations that seem to last for a lifetime.

I believe that this work sustains from the inside out. That is I have learned how to grow these forms by working with good singers who are committed to their own development and willing to stand in the fire while the changes happen. People seem to come to this work when they are breaking open, breaking down, breaking through, and it seems always to be a surprise how emotional and transformative that is. The way we manage it is in community and yet there is a personal aspect that must be done alone. The rest of us are back up of course but this creative process demands meeting the challenges with a kind of courage. When I have watched it and seen how beautiful that transformation is, I am in awe. We don’t change easily. It is hard work but in the company of others and with music as the foundation, it is exquisite.”
