Why build a 53-metre tower to make a cable ? 🏗️

Because of gravity.

Our 525 kV HVDC land cable has a core as wide as a tennis ball 🎾, wrapped in thick layers of insulation that go on hot and soft. Making it vertically keeps everything perfectly centred, all along its length.

So in Charleroi, we built up ⬆️

4 days, 1 shared ambition: powering the future of offshore wind.

From 22 to 25 September, Nexans was proud to take part in WindEnergy Hamburg, a key event for the wind industry.

⚡ It was an opportunity to showcase our high-voltage cable systems, our 72kV and 145kV accessories and our grid solutions, which help bring renewable energy from offshore wind farms to the grid.
Above all, it was four days of meaningful conversations with customers, partners and industry stakeholders on what matters most: offshore wind development, reliable grid connections, industrial capacity and supporting the energy transition. As electrification accelerates, offshore wind has a vital role to play in building a more sustainable, resilient and efficient energy system.

We're committed to being part of that journey.

🇻🇪 Standing with Venezuela

In the wake of the devastating earthquakes that struck Venezuela earlier this year, communities faced an immense humanitarian crisis with UNICEF estimating that 680,000 children needed urgent assistance.

Moved by the resilience of those affected, Fondation Nexans acted quickly to fund Electriciens sans Frontières, whose volunteers were already on the ground.

Thanks to this support, families sheltering after the disaster received solar kits to power phones and essential equipment, plus solar lamps to bring light and a greater sense of safety during that difficult time. 💡

Olivier Pinto joined Nexans 25 years ago. Today he leads our global data center offer. In this Essential Talk, filmed at our Ampacity R&D center in Lyon, he explains what happens underneath the servers: the cables, the electrical architecture, and the monitoring systems that spot a fault before it becomes an outage.

His point is simple. A data center full of servers with nothing to power them is just dead metal.
