Creations en Bois is a custom woodworking business situated in central Brittany. I make one-of-a-kind doors, cabinets, shelves, fine home furniture, garden furniture and fixtures, end-grain cutting boards, and gifts in a range of wood species. Every project starts with an idea, and from there I assist in the design process to construct your v

ision. Furniture styles range from modern to antique including cottage, shaker, and federal. I make my own moldings as well as raised door panels in any combination of wood. My passion is producing beautiful, quality pieces in wood because it is a traditional material with no two pieces that are ever identical – even within the same species. Wood is historically important, sustainable, and has a unique character that no man made material will ever have, and I believe we all need more wood in our lives and in our homes of course. I am excited about providing my clients with meaningful pieces of furniture that are lasting and something to connect with.

Bench Reproduction

These 11 Mahogany benches were made as reproductions of the original benches for the church in Langoëlan.

Bench Restoration

The slats on this bench had deteriorated to a point where the hardware was falling out. New Chestnut slats were installed and with the stainless steel hardware this bench will last for many more enjoyable evenings in the garden.

Garden Gate

One garden gate was made to provide a safety measure between the staircase and outdoor deck. The other gate was made to fully enclose the deck for pet-resistance. They are made in a barn-style using Douglas Fir, ring latches, and strap hinges.

Park Benches

These benches were made for the Mairie in Langoelan. They have been installed around the beautiful Lac Dordu and while they have a very industrial look to them they were designed with longevity in mind. The wood is class 4 treated pine and all joints are draw-bored for durability.

Classic Garden Bench

This garden bench is made in reclaimed California Redwood (yes - Semper Virens). The lumber came from wooden casks used in the production and storage of red wine, which gave it this wonderful dark hue.

Garden Gate with Trellis

The graceful curves of this gate beautifully frame the roses in the garden. While adding curb appeal and providing privacy in the back yard this gate is made in sustainably harvested California Redwood. As always, when installing fence posts (or garden gates) add crushed rock in the bottom of the hole for drainage.

Adirondack chair and Loveseat

Adirondack furniture in class 4 pine. No need to treat your patio furniture every year with these sturdy and comfortable seats. The chair comes with an optional footstool. The perfect furniture to enjoy a quiet evening with a glass of wine - or hot cup of tea in fall.

Demi Lune (Tree) Bench

This "Demi Lune" bench was made for a client and good friend of ours. The piece is crafted in Douglas Pine, and will be homed in a beautiful garden at the base of a tree.

Japanese Lantern

This is what the client calls a "Japanese Lantern". We added the four elements of a Japanese symbols, "wind", "water", "earth" and "fire". The roof is made with Cedar shingles, and the rest of the structure is made in Douglas Fir.
