While Lille is still waking up, I'm already running. 🏃‍♂️

This street is packed with restaurants and terraces by lunchtime. At 7am, it's just shutters opening, coffee brewing, and me heading to an apartment to make sure the shippers don't break my client's belongings.

That's the side of relocation nobody sees: the prefecture queues, the phone calls, the forms sent back for one missing document, the follow-ups that take three tries. I chase the bureaucracy so you don't have to.

Because moving to France should be about figuring out which electric bike to buy or establishing a good relationship with your GP. Not chasing paperwork.

This post was inspired by two things:
- A stainless steel frying pan
- And a few clients who disappeared after two sessions 😅 ( you know who you are )

Over the past few years, instant gratification has taken over.
We want things faster and faster:
- A 10-day course to become an expert
- A great body in 3 months
- A profitable business in one quarter
“Good” isn’t good enough anymore — we want excellence in everything, immediately.
But attention spans are shorter than ever.
One day we’re all in. The next, we’ve given up.

It’s crazy how many videos and posts I see daily selling solutions perfectly adapted to your “tight schedule.”
But here’s the truth:
🚫 You won’t fully integrate into a new country in 6 months.
🚫 You won’t fix a broken relationship in 8 coaching sessions.
🚫 You won’t get that promotion after 3 hours of self-work.

Personal growth takes time.
Time requires your attention.
And attention requires practice.

It’s easy to rush — everyone else is rushing too.
But maybe what you need…
Is to buy a stainless steel frying pan.
Start cooking.
Practice slow, quality work.

Heads up — sports metaphor incoming 🏀

Ever seen a basketball team come back from 20 points down?
Let me tell you — it’s tough.

It takes grit, trust, and — most of all — effort.
You can’t win it all at once — you take it one possession at a time.
You miss shots. You make mistakes. Sometimes it even feels impossible.
But if you keep showing up and play as a team — you’ve got a shot.
That’s exactly what it felt like when I moved abroad.

Hello beautiful people ( stole this line from my wife 😁 ),

✈️ The hardest part about moving abroad isn’t what you think.
It’s not the paperwork.
It’s not the bureaucracy.
It’s not even learning the language (although that’s a close one 😅).

For many of the people I work with — and from my own experience — it’s losing your sense of self. Maybe even a confident self.
Suddenly, you’re no longer “the amazing Project Manager from Spain” or “that social, friendly person who knows everyone.”
You’re just… another person here.
And that can shake your confidence to the core.
The person you see in the mirror might start to feel like a stranger.
The good news? It’s temporary.
