Labor et Fides — Published February 18, 2026

Because every theology is culturally situated, Christian theology is inevitably multicultural. Yet one step remains to be taken: to become intercultural. Crossing languages, contexts, origins, ages, sexes, genders, social classes, and spiritualities, in order to bring to light both particularities and possible constants, so that theology may finally become the space for dialogue it is called to be.

Cerf Patrimoines — Coming April 16, 2026

Islam, as a historical, religious, and civilizational reality, is difficult to define. It can be perceived as a form of political governance, an expression of faith, a social conception with regulatory practices, or as a civilizational and cultural heritage. From its emergence and throughout its history, Islam has transformed the way these realities are inhabited. This makes it impossible to speak of it as a monolithic reality. Islam is, in fact, plural.

📘 Islam and Scientific Examination: A Renewed Quest

"How can we establish an objective, rigorous, and detached study of Islam in the face of the excesses generated by its politicization? It is to answer this burning question that the French Institute of Islamology (IFI) was created in 2022, at the request of the President of the Republic. This public institution's mission is to develop high-level Islamology by promoting, on a national scale, the scientific examination of belief systems, knowledge, and practices specific to the various currents of the Islamic religion.

Here are the inaugural lectures given at the Sorbonne on June 15, 2023, by internationally renowned scholars: Christian Robin, specialist in the archaeology of the Arabian Peninsula; François Déroche, specialist in the Quran; Samuela Pagani, specialist in Sufism; and Dominique Avon, specialist in contemporary Islam.

This book constitutes the first volume of the IFI Library which, under the aegis of Mohammad Ali Amir-Moezzi and Juliette Dumas, aims to publish the major texts of Islamology in order to dispel fundamentalist and militant interpretations. An indispensable introduction."
