As you have probably heard from my story, my own path to Authentic, Role Model Leadership has been plagued with self-doubt….Indeed, many times, those naysaying voices both outside and inside me seemed like they would have their way. And at short intervals, they did. But not for long.

Instead, a big part of my journey has been learning how to overcome and work with these less-than-supportive voices so that I could evolve and take my rightful place in the business and leadership world, much of which involves helping others find and use their true voice.

And that’s why I’m so passionate about helping all of you acknowledge (because they’re part of who we are) and still walk past all those inner voices which tell us we’re not good enough and to step into your full radiance.

After over six months of hitting it hard to "make" my new business strategy work
- making over 500 connections
- the creation of a whole new service line
- discovering and starting to roll out my "hook" branding
- and many other actions like learning new entrepreneurial tools, adopting a more "CEO" mindset and taking greater ownership of the future I want to create

I was exhausted!

Worse, it felt like I was running my heart out - on a treadmill which was firmly fixed in place, getting nowhere.

But I am an A+ personality a Get-It-Done Girl: I know how to get into action. And get into action I did, over and over.

Even though I know better that over-doing rarely leads to the most impactful results.

That is, until people I admire - and whom I know care about me - re-role-modeled Surrender. Not surrender as in "I won't lift a finger here" but surrender as in "We do the footwork and then we let go of the results." This is how we can let grace and higher-level thinking in.

I know how to live like that, by the way, I had just forgotten. But not anymore. Because when I get back to the why of my business in the first place, it's to live out my purpose. Which I can only do when both my masculine/doing energies and those of my feminine/receiving side are in balance.

So here's to my renewed commitment to the doing, yes, and also to receiving. Here's to Surrender and all it can do for our leadership.


Extend a helping hand. Great leadership is about how much we help others – not what we do for ourselves. Try letting go, it may surprise you.

Boy, do I need to take a dose of my own medicine lately!

With a new business strategy, an economy which is not exactly wildly supporting my line of work and my sense of planting seed after seed with no harvest in sight, Frustration has has come up more times than I care to acknowledge.

After all, with all of this effort I am expending, why isn't my way working and in the timeframe I want it to?

And around and around the thought loop goes - until the wiser part of me steps in and reminds myself that in every upset, there is a set up for learning. That every time I feel frustrated, it is exactly because I am trying to have things go my way - as though I know better than the universe!

Instead, when I can use my frustration as an invitation to step back and become more open to a breakthrough from a completely different direction, I and the solution I was seeking are usually taken to a whole other level.

So everything - even frustration - can be for our learning, if we want it to be.
