France is preparing a second national auction to support clean hydrogen production, with 250 MW of electrolyser capacity expected to be offered to developers.
The new round forms part of France’s broader objective to support up to 1 GW of electrolyser capacity through the national support scheme, strengthening the country’s position in Europe’s emerging clean-hydrogen market.
France’s national energy strategy targets the deployment of up to 4.5 GW of electrolysers by 2030 and 8 GW by 2035, making hydrogen an important component of the country’s industrial decarbonisation strategy.
