The European Fire Prevention & Rural Preservation Organization is dedicated to creating a safer and more resilient Europe.

Prevent and combat forest fires, protect ecosystems and rural populations promote fire prevention, encourage sustainable management of natural areas develop tools and methods for better protection of rural areas against fires. Our primary goals include fire prevention and education, advanced monitoring systems, forest and green areas restoration, burnt buildings and public infrastructure restoration, and rapid response teams to minimize the impact of wildfires.

Our latest report, "A Decade of European Civil Protection Expenditure and Strategic Fleet Modernization," analyzes the profound shift from localized suppression to a high-capital, supranational defense strategy.

The 2025 wildfire season has redefined environmental disaster as a permanent economic liability. With over 1,033,818 hectares burned, nearly triple the 19-year average, the EU is facing more than just seasonal loss; it is facing structural erosion.

The rise of "flash droughts" and extreme heatwaves has made catastrophic fire weather 40 times more likely than in the past. As residents flee "Empty Spain" (España Vaciada) and tourism flows shift toward "coolcationing" in Northern Europe, the Mediterranean's economic geography is being permanently altered.
