Message of Republican Arnold Schwarzenegger as he endorses Kamala Harris.
——————————————————————————
I don’t really do endorsements. I’m not shy about sharing my views, but I hate politics and don’t trust most politicians.

I also understand that people want to hear from me because I am not just a celebrity, I am a former Republican Governor.

My time as Governor taught me to love policy and ignore politics. I’m proud of the work I did to help clean up our air, create jobs, balance the budget, make the biggest infrastructure investment in state history, and take power from the politicians and give it back to the people when it comes to our redistricting process and our primaries in California.

That’s policy. It requires working with the other side, not insulting them to win your next election, and I know it isn’t sexy to most people, but I love it when I can help make people’s lives better with policies, like I still do through my institute at USC, where we fight for clean air and stripping the power from the politicians who rig the system against the people.

Let me be honest with you: I don’t like either party right now. My Republicans have forgotten the beauty of the free market, driven up deficits, and rejected election results. Democrats aren’t any better at dealing with deficits, and I worry about their local policies hurting our cities with increased crime.

It is probably not a surprise that I hate politics more than ever, which, if you are a normal person who isn’t addicted to this crap, you probably understand.

I want to tune out.

But I can’t. Because rejecting the results of an election is as un-American as it gets. To someone like me who talks to people all over the world and still knows America is the shining city on a hill, calling America is a trash can for the world is so unpatriotic, it makes me furious.

And I will always be an American before I am a Republican.

That’s why, this week, I am voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.

I’m sharing it with all of you because I think there are a lot of you who feel like I do. You don’t recognize our country. And you are right to be furious.

For decades, we’ve talked about the national debt. For decades, we’ve talked about comprehensive immigration reform that secures the border while fixing our broken immigration system. And Washington does nothing.

The problems just keep rolling, and we all keep getting angrier, because the only people that benefit from problems aren’t you, the people. The only people that benefit from this crap are the politicians who prefer having talking points to win elections to the public service that will make Americans’ lives better.

It is a just game to them. But it is life for my fellow Americans. We should be pi**ed!

But a candidate who won’t respect your vote unless it is for him, a candidate who will send his followers to storm the Capitol while he watches with a Diet Coke, a candidate who has shown no ability to work to pass any policy besides a tax cut that helped his donors and other rich people like me but helped no one else else, a candidate who thinks Americans who disagree with him are the bigger enemies than China, Russia, or North Korea - that won’t solve our problems.

It will just be four more years of bu****it with no results that makes us angrier and angrier, more divided, and more hateful.

We need to close the door on this chapter of American history, and I know that former President Trump won’t do that. He will divide, he will insult, he will find new ways to be more un-American than he already has been, and we, the people, will get nothing but more anger.

That’s enough reason for me to share my vote with all of you. I want to move forward as a country, and even though I have plenty of disagreements with their platform, I think the only way to do that is with Harris and Walz.

Vote this week. Turn the page and put this junk behind us.

And even if you disagree with me, vote, because that’s what we do as Americans.

Register to vote. Check your registration status. Get your absentee ballot. Fast, free, easy, secure, nonpartisan.

Definition of true love

If I speak in the tongues [1] of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.
2
If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
3
If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, [2] but have not love, I gain nothing.
4
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
5
It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
6
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
7
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8
Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
9
For we know in part and we prophesy in part,
10
but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears.
11
When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me.
12
Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
13
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

*END BAD CITIZENSHIP *

Nigeria is a country where the average citizen IS lawless.
He jumps red lights.
He drives against traffic.
He goes to work LATE.
He will NOT go to work if he can help it: but expects full salary on pay day.
He cheats his workplace of TIME & MONEY.

But he's very RELIGIOUS...

He's a deacon or elder in a church.
He prays 5 times a day & strongly advocates for the implementation of Sharia Law all over the country.
He goes on Holy Pilgrimage to Mecca & Jerusalem.

But that's where his religiousity ends:
He lies & swears like Satan Iscariot...

He will print his own receipts to make extra money off his workplace.

He will bypass the PHCN/NEPA meter to use electricity WITHOUT paying for it.
As a teenager, he cheated in his exams.
He's ALWAYS looking for ways to CHEAT the system.
He's a BAD PERSON, but he doesn't SEE it.

He CANNOT function in an ORGANISED & CIVIL society where he can't cheat.

But he BLAMES the "Leaders" & "Government" for everything wrong in Nigeria.

He doesn't realize that these little things he does contribute to the DECAY in the country.

He outsources blame to others...

But he NEVER sees himself as THE PROBLEM.

He wants to drive from Abuja to Kano or Lagos to Ilorin.
He KNOWS his car papers are EXPIRED. But he hits the road anyway: he KNOWS he will get to his destination by dropping ₦200 at every checkpoint.

LAWLESSNESS is his REALITY!

He mouths "Good Governance" with his mouth, but practically EVERYTHING he does is AGAINST Good Governance.

He sees a straightforward system. The first thing that comes to his mind is how to bend it.

Stand on a queue for service?
No: Jump the queue & get the service faster!

Now, he complains about BAD GOVERNANCE.
"Those who govern us are BAD LEADERS! We DESERVE better Leaders, "he says.

So he plans a National Protest against Bad Leadership & gives it a hashtag, !

One of these folks asked me a few hours ago, "Harry, will you join?"

I sighed.
He asked again.
I told him, "I am actually planning another Protest & I wish you'd join mine instead!"
He asked, "Which Protest is that?"
I replied, "A protest against Bad Citizens! I'm giving it the hashtag !
Will you join me in this protest?"

He laughed!
"Harry has come again o!
If the whole world is looking left, you WILL find a reason to look right!"
"I'm glad you KNOW I don't follow the crowd. I'm glad you KNOW I think differently from the MOB..."
He got offended!
"You're calling me part of a mob, Harry?"

"I didn't say that. You did!"
He got into his car & drove off angrily...

I stood there, watching him drive away.
About 400 meters ahead, he got to the T-Junction, a One Way Express Road.
All cars turn RIGHT.

The Protester turned LEFT, driving against traffic!

I just smiled...

He wanted to go left, but that would require him going right to turn at the roundabout, a kilometer down the road.
But there is another turn to the left, just about 100 meters ahead.
So, typical of the average Nigerian, he'd rather drive 100 meters AGAINST TRAFFIC & cross over...

He doesn't see anything WRONG in that.
He will even JUSTIFY it if you bring it to his notice.

He can even blame it on the "Leaders" & "Government" he wants to protest against.

In other words, "I am a BAD CITIZEN because our Leaders & Government are BAD!"

How ironic...

At the end of the day, I think we Nigerians have the kind of leadership & Governance we DESERVE.

We want our leaders to be GOOD, but we are comfortable being BAD CITIZENS!

We have ACCEPTED being BAD CITIZENS as NORMAL, but we want GOOD LEADERS!
*We need a change from top to bottom!!!*

why would a person choose to do evil rather than good. By Gribran Elias

Consider the experience of being human:

first, you are expelled from the Garden of Eden of mother’s womb; noone has warned you about it, nor has anyone told you what your sin was;
once out, it’s cold and painful; you are weak, vulnerable, and totally dependent; plus you feel really hungry all the time;
mother’s ideally there, always by your side, but you soon discover that she is not yours; father is there too, and, though he protects you, he also takes mother away from you;
later on, both mother and father have their attention split between you and your siblings, if you have them;
you realize you cannot be with mother forever, you are you, she is herself; you are separate beings; you are separated; you are to face the world alone;
out in the world, you meet people who feel just as vulnerable and afraid as you do; bugs bite you; dogs bite you; damn, even some colleagues in primary school bite you;
you realize not every toy is yours, and other kids even take from you those toys that indeed belong to you; they steal your color pencils and the snack you brought from home…
And so on… Naturally, mother, father, and even your siblings may help you cope with all these losses and shortages (and they frequently do). But some parents are faulty for a number of reasons, and some siblings get stuck in competition mode, rather than cooperative. In school, you’ll gradually find your “allies”, and you’ll team up against those other kids who are so competitive towards you; but this feeling of battlefield remains, this feeling of constantly struggling to find your place in a gigantic and aggressive world, against people just as eager to fight as you are, which you have to wrestle all the time for survival (mainly emotional survival, since, ideally, mother and father are wrestling for your material survival, at least).

And we haven't yet started looking through the eyes of those whose parents have abused or abandoned them; whose siblings have dispised them; whose colleagues have mercilessly bullied them; whose teachers have molested them; those who haven't had their material needs met…

Why do people find it easier to do evil than to do good?

Same reason why it’s easier to drink than to resist when you’re thirsty; why it’s easier to eat than to refuse when you’re starving; why it’s easier to stay in an abusive relationship than facing the dry desert of low self-esteem. Because the evil I do to others benefits me.

This world is a world of separation, of being apart, of disconnection, of perceived scarcity/shortage/hunger, of duality: us-and-them (and it so often feels like me-against-them!). Some of us have had it all well-done, have received proper support when facing these natural challenges of life. Some haven't. Many, even having received their proper share of support, fail their own friends and spouses and children…

Friendliness, cooperation, trust, loyalty, love… these things sometimes pop-up spontaneously in the behaviours of small kids, and can be more consistent even in animals. But we, as humans, face a lot of stuff that draw us away from doing good; from even perceiving and judging what could be good/better…

We have to constantly learn, and relearn, and remember, and remember again, those moments that we lived when things worked out, when they went all fine; when we cooperated out of a causeless good will, and we shared the results… We have to bypass the very strong perception we get of a world where everybody is on their own, fight for themselves alone; we have to constantly question the general culture of scarcity of love and protection, this very culture that has shaped our brains and hearts (another reason why evil is easier: it’s very consolidated in ourselves, by repetition)…

Some people say we are naturally evil, sin-bound, tainted… and then we beg for forgiveness! We fear punishment for our nature, which we seemingly did not have a say in.

I do agree that the nature of our experience misleads us into evil… but I prefer thinking we are confused, jet-lagged; oblivious of our fundamental Oneness, and fooled by the illusion of separation (subject-object, me-against-them). And that we can live that right here, right now, if only we open our hearts, which have been shut down again, and again, and again, over these many stumbles in life.

The more we seek this, the more we practice it, the more it changes us, changes our hearts and brains, and it becomes much, much easier.

Let us try it more often.
