En avril 2026, 200 jeunes réunis au Conseil économique social et environnemental ont clôturé la 3e édition du Le Parlement des Jeunes, organisé par La Fabrique d'Avenir.

En quelques semaines, répartis en 8 commissions (écologie, défense, éducation, santé, désinformation, inclusion, protection de l'enfance, société), ils ont produit des propositions concrètes sur les sujets qui définissent leur monde.

Ce qui ressort de leurs témoignages ? Une génération qui ne veut plus être consultée du bout des lèvres.

What does scaling democratic innovation look like in different contexts?

Are you a practitioner, researcher, policymaker, or civil society actor? Join a unique research initiative on democratic innovation.

The project (EU-funded) is hosting an international online workshop series, “Reversing the Gaze”, exploring how democratic innovations emerge, evolve, and scale across different political, social, and cultural contexts.

In collaboration with Extituto de Política Abierta (Colombia), the series connects experiences across four regional hubs: Latin America, Africa, Asia, and Eastern Europe & the Balkans, fostering exchange and mutual learning across regions.

The aim is to move beyond a European lens and build a more inclusive understanding of democratic innovation.

These workshops offer spaces to share your experiences, challenge assumptions, and contribute directly to research. They are also a great opportunity to connect with new people and learn from others.

TRIBUNE — Quand le lien social nous tient debout

Parce que le lien social n’est pas un “plus”. C’est une infrastructure : de survie, de santé et de démocratie.

Nous le voyons chaque jour dans nos démarches.
↪️ Quand des personnes se parlent.
↪️ Quand des institutions écoutent vraiment.
↪️ Quand des désaccords peuvent être mis en mots.
↪️ Quand des habitants retrouvent du pouvoir d’agir.

✅ Alors quelque chose se reconstruit : la confiance et la capacité à faire collectif.

À travers Judith Ferrando, Missions Publiques a signé cette tribune publiée dans La Croix, pour donner de la force à ces liens qui doivent être reconnus, soutenus et protégés.
Notamment grâce aux associations, aux collectifs ou encore aux espaces de dialogue que nous mettons régulièrement en place dans les démarches que nous accompagnons.

Dans ce texte, on retrouve des exemples venus du monde entier, qui illustrent bien ces propos :
* Tōhoku, Japon : après le séisme et le tsunami de 2011, certaines communes ont beaucoup mieux résisté que d’autres. La différence ne tenait pas seulement aux digues, mais à la confiance et à l’entraide entre voisins.
* Chicago, États-Unis : pendant la canicule de 1995, les personnes les plus isolées ont été les plus vulnérables. Être connu, visité, entouré peut devenir une question de survie.
* Harvard, Grigny, Covid : les recherches et les crises récentes montrent la même chose. Les liens sociaux protègent la santé, soutiennent la confiance et permettent aux territoires de tenir.

Au cœur d’une Convention citoyenne nationale🎥

« Un appel qu’on a failli ne pas décrocher »

C’est souvent ainsi que commence l’aventure des citoyennes, citoyens et jeunes tirés au sort pour participer à une Convention citoyenne.

La Convention citoyenne sur les Temps de l’Enfant, organisée par le Conseil économique, social et environnemental, ne déroge pas à la règle.

Une fois cette première étape de confiance franchie, l’aventure collective peut commencer.

C’est ce que retrace le documentaire de Clémentine Isaac. Le film nous plonge au cœur d’une expérience démocratique unique : 5 mois de travail, de débats et d’écoute pour imaginer des réponses concrètes au bien-être et aux apprentissages des enfants.

Since the fall of the dictatorship in the 1980s, the Philippines has returned to a democratic framework, but one that remains fragile.

So this is precisely why Julienne Alexis Joven works to create spaces where people can speak for themselves, by designing participatory processes that amplify citizens’ voices and make them truly heard.

Her work therefore seeks to stitch the pieces of the system back together: to imagine mechanisms in which every citizen contribution leaves a trace, generates feedback, and leads to measurable impact.

Her research now focuses on modernising participation tools, making better use of digital platforms, and putting in place real impact tracking, so that engagement doesn’t simply disappear into a void.

✍️The Hope Manifesto, initiated by the House of European History, was formally handed over to Diana Jablonska, representing DG EAC, during the 32nd EuroClio Annual Conference 2026, "History and Hope: Learning for Change".

Throughout the conference, the House of European History and EuroClio - European Association of History Educators created collaborative spaces for reflection and exchange around this year’s theme.

Around 250 history teachers and educators from Europe and beyond contributed to the process through participatory workshops, written reflections and the Wall of Hope.
Together, these activities made it possible to capture a wide range of practices, concerns, aspirations and commitments emerging from the conference community.

An Editorial Committee of 10 volunteer teachers then brought these contributions together into a coherent final text: a collective, teacher-led Manifesto rooted in professional practice and offering a shared point of reference for history educators.

It speaks of hope not as simple optimism, but as a meaningful pedagogical orientation: one that supports critical thinking, democratic life, plurality of perspectives and the belief that history education can help young people engage with the past, understand the present and imagine their role in shaping the future.

📣Today’s handover is both an achievement and an invitation: to keep building hope in classrooms and beyond.

From April 27-29, 250 history teachers and educators are gathering for EuroClio’s annual conference History and Hope - Learning for change co-organised with the House of European History, in Brussels.

During the conference, participants will be shaping the , a collective, teacher-led text exploring how history can become a practice of hope, and how hope, in turn, can nurture the way history is taught.

In this interview, Laurence Bragard and Guido Gerrichhauzen, the initiators of this project, explain why this bottom-up initiative gives teachers agency, and why that matters far beyond the classroom.

In a world marked by uncertainty, placing the future at the heart of public policy has become a necessity.

In Wales, it was by giving a voice to its citizens that the government rethought its long-term approach, embedded sustainable development into its actions and placed future generations at the heart of its decisions.

Sophie Howe, Wales’ first Commissioner for Future Generations and now an advisor at the School of International Futures, shares her experience.

Quand on parle de participation, la première question est souvent : comment ?

Pourtant, une interrogation tout aussi stratégique (et parfois plus décisive encore) mérite d’être posée : qui impliquer ? Car choisir le « qui », c’est déjà orienter la décision, définir les intérêts représentés, révéler les angles morts… et esquisser les futurs rendus possibles.

→ Dépasser les frontières administratives
→ Représenter les générations futures

Ce 2 et 3 avril, c’est la restitution du Parlement des Jeunes 2026 !

Après plusieurs semaines d’ateliers territoriaux et de visios, les 200 jeunes parlementaires se réunissent au Conseil économique social et environnemental (CESE).

Si c’est une belle occasion de se retrouver et de se (re)voir toutes et tous, c’est aussi le moment de restituer leurs constats, leurs attentes, leurs débats et leurs propositions pour peser dans le débat de la prochaine élection présidentielle.

Au programme :
→ Derniers travaux collectifs
→ Restitution du livrable aux institutionnels et aux acteurs de la société civile
→ Campus ouvert au grand public (conférences, stands, ateliers, etc.)

L’objectif ? Créer des passerelles entre les jeunesses, les générations et les acteurs de la société.

Deux belles journées que Missions Publiques a la chance d’accompagner.

👏 Bravo à tous les jeunes engagés dans cette démarche, à l’équipe d’organisation et à tous les intervenants pour cette belle édition.
