FOUND!!! This lil' runaway was found in the neighbours garage this morning. Thank you to the Lakestone community for your support and incredible number of shares of this post.

⚠️ Missing ⚠️ Please keep your eyes peeled for this handsome man. Rio is a black miniature pinscher who has gone missing from the Lakestone area. He is a people person and will have no problem inviting himself to your BBQ. Please keep him safe and call 250.870.0520 when found. Thank you.

UPDATE: Thanks to the for reaching out privately and showing their support. My little post advertising chicken bones garnered over 100 negative messages...it's nice to see the supportive and positive side.
I posted a bag of chicken bones for sale on Facebook Marketplace and received numerous unsolicited private messages from strangers trying to educate me on the dangers of feeding chicken bones to my dog.

Here is my response:

Recently, I posted a bag of chicken bones for sale on Facebook Marketplace (I accidentally purchased chicken instead of beef). In a matter of minutes, I started to receive unsolicited private messages from strangers trying to educate me on the dangers of feeding chicken bones to my dog. Here is the....

We had the pleasure of helping these two lil’ guys! They are siblings that were found in distress. Poor momma bird was flying overhead looking for her babies, but these lil’ ones needed some help.

Your amazing donations and support have allowed us to donate OVER $600 for the “organization” who will be rehabilitating and releasing one (if not both) of these birds. As we wished these birdies well on their next adventure, we handed over a donation to help cover their expenses. Your support made a difference today! Thank you from me (and the birdies!)

I’m vague about my (and others) involvement because in Canada we have laws that prohibit a) the transportation of wildlife and b) the rehabilitation of wildlife. And yes, “they” do watch online.

Announcement:

Traveling On A Leash is pleased to announce we will no longer prioritize reporting on dog-friendly destinations. Although I have enjoyed sharing our pet-friendly travel experiences with fellow doggy friends and followers, this has not lead to my desired sense of fulfilment.

My passion for helping animals is very strong and thus Traveling On A Leash will increase its efforts and change the focus to raising money and awareness for valued charitable organizations and animals around the world. Tango and I will still be each other's sidekick as we travel the world (we are currently in Budapest, Hungary!) however, our reporting and efforts will be concentrated on showcasing the amazing efforts of global volunteers and animal rescues.

Various methods will be used to raise funds including the sales of Dog Treats by Traveling On A Leash. This line of dehydrated proteins is hand made and sourced from local farms with 𝟭𝟬𝟬% 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗗𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝘄𝘄.𝗧𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗢𝗻𝗔𝗟𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗵.𝗰𝗼𝗺 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀! Our first batch was a success, selling out in minutes thanks to the support of friends and family. PM us your e-mail address to receive store locations and keep up to date on our fundraising efforts.

Lots of love and safe travels from Tango and I

The secret to finding fresh, local ingredients is to go where the locals' shop! I sipped hot wine bought from a street vendor while browsing homemade pastries, wine, cheese and pasta. Yum, yum! Oh, how I love you Venice!

The markets get better as the seasons became warmer. We shopped traditional foods and organic fruits and veggies in every town. Farmer’s markets give a sense of the community, and it’s a great place to mingle with the locals.

For a yacht dog like Tango, Montenegro is the place to be!!! to when Tango and I did a 9-hour boat tour around the beautiful Bay of Kotor. You will have to wait for our full review, but Tango can’t wait to tell you that we swam in the Blue Caves!!! Ok! “Swam” is an overstatement. She sulked on my shoulder while I told her she is the luckiest puppy ever and to enjoy the warm crystal clear blue water! At least she made a wonderful friend to enjoy the boat ride with!

It’s Tango’s Grandpa’s birthday today! How we wish we could all be together to give him a big hug in person? Tango sure does miss sitting at her Grandpa’s feet in the kitchen and his snuggles while watching tv at night. Big birthday hugs to the best dad and the best grandpa!

Tango stands on a Sarajevo Rose, a red resin filled crater marking the spots of casualties of the Siege of Sarajevo. Created by mortar shells during the longest siege in modern history, this is just one of many historical lessons to take in while exploring Sarajevo with your pooch. All the tips and tricks to exploring this city on four paws is on our blog!
