In Largo Winch, the most powerful woman in the room loses everything.

Not because she was outplayed.
Because security let him get in with his phone.

She spoke freely. Confessed to a murder. Handed over her entire plan to take control of a billion-dollar empire.
Every word. Recorded.

When the video played at the shareholders' meeting, it was done.
One phone. One unsearched room. One missed step.
That's all it took.

Before any sensitive meeting, IPS BODYGUARD sweeps the space. Phones go outside. Signals get cut. Nobody enters without being checked — and that's not up for debate depending on who's walking in.

We've seen what one unguarded conversation can do.
The incident is rarely the expensive part. The fallout is.

The Art of Being There… Without Being Seen.

Visual discretion is a powerful tool in executive protection, and it is often underestimated.
I have seen it go wrong in the most elegant places:

· An agent on a Saint-Tropez private beach at midday… Full suit, sweating. Client in swim shorts with his family!
· A perfectly cut black suit… paired with white sports socks!
· A gala dinner in Monaco, with a sharp black suit… and a cowboy belt buckle!

These details may seem minor. They are not.
True mastery is when your presence is felt only by the threats, and unseen by everyone else.

Clients rarely give a clear dress code. That’s why we carry three complete changes of clothes in the vehicle: sportswear, casual wear and a full suit. This way we are always one step ahead, whatever the day brings.

At IPS BODYGUARD, posture adapts to the client's world.

One Driver Call + One Protest = Mission Saved in 45min

Most security failures don’t start with a big incident.
They start with a small gap in continuity.

In 2023, our client was in Paris, scheduled for a 09:00 private jet departure the next morning from Le Bourget to Los Angeles.
At 23:00 Paris time, I was coordinating from Dubai when two alerts came in at once:

The regular driver suddenly had a family emergency and couldn’t make it in the morning.
A major protest was announced, set to block the main access road to LBG starting at 08:00 the next morning.

Working with our team in Paris, we replaced the driver in 10 minutes.
We immediately contacted the client's team in LA, they advanced the jet departure by one hour. The morning movement was reorganised with an advance party deployed ahead of time to assess the route and ensure no roadblocks would impact the departure.
The client arrived at 07:30, well before the protest began.

By 08:00 the client was already in the air, calm and on schedule.
Three time zones. Three teams. One coordinated response. This is what true continuity means.

Protection is not only about being present near the client. It is about maintaining a clear operational picture across time zones, before the next move even begins.

The most dangerous Wi-Fi network is rarely the one that looks suspicious.

In the field, more risk comes from a luxury hotel lounge or a conference venue than from a badly designed public hotspot. The network looks legitimate. The device reconnects automatically. Sensitive data starts moving before anyone questions it.

A copied network name. A familiar login page. No visible warning. That is how interception works in real life, and it takes less than one rushed connection between meetings to create real exposure.

85% of people have heard of VPNs. Only 32% actually use one.

Here is what we enforce on every operational trip, without exception:

1. VPN on, always. On hotel Wi-Fi, on airport networks, on 4G and 5G. The cellular network is more secure by default, but it is not immune. VPN is not optional. It is the baseline.

2. Bluetooth off when not in active use. Not on standby. Off. In a hotel lobby, an airport lounge, or a conference room, an active Bluetooth signal is a visible entry point. You have no way of knowing who is scanning for devices within ten meters of you.

3. A personal hotspot on a dedicated travel SIM. When the network cannot be trusted, you stop using it. A separate SIM used exclusively for travel removes the dependency on public infrastructure entirely.

Executive protection today is not only about physical movement. It is also about controlling the digital space that travels with the client.
When on the move, is your VPN always on?

Paris doesn't mean safe. Dakar doesn't mean dangerous.
After 25 years of international operations, that's one of the first things I tell every new team.

Some of our most operationally complex missions have been in Paris, during major summits and events.
Strict governmental perimeters. Media saturation. Multiple competing security protocols. Vehicle access restrictions that require advance coordination weeks before the client even books a flight.

In Dakar, the challenges are different. Not bigger, different.
Local partner vetting. Infrastructure variables. Routes that no mapping tool can fully anticipate. Intelligence that only exists inside human networks on the ground.

Elite protection isn't about mastering one environment. It's about walking into Paris or Dakar and rebuilding your entire operational framework in 48 hours, without the client ever feeling the difference.
That's what operating across EMEA actually requires.

What's been your most operationally complex city?

In close protection, preparation goes beyond security.

In a critical situation, the first minutes are often decisive. Severe bleeding, trauma or sudden medical emergencies require immediate action.

This is why professional protection teams must be trained in advanced first aid and tactical emergency care inspired by TCCC protocols.

These skills allow agents to control life-threatening bleeding, stabilize injuries and maintain vital functions until medical professionals take over.

In environments where response time matters, immediate medical capability becomes a critical layer of protection.

Modern executive protection is not only about preventing threats.
It is also about being ready to save lives when seconds count.

A true protection professional combines operational capability with social intelligence.

Military and special forces backgrounds bring valuable qualities: discipline, resilience and the ability to operate under pressure. In high-risk environments, these skills are often critical.

But executive protection operates in many different contexts.

Protecting a client during a high-profile event, a business meeting or an international trip requires more than tactical experience.

Understanding social dynamics.
Communicating with discretion.
Adapting to professional and international environments.

In places like a fashion event, a corporate summit or a public appearance, the ability to blend in and interact appropriately often matters as much as security expertise.

Executive protection is therefore not defined by a single background.

The best protection professionals combine operational competence with emotional intelligence, discretion and the ability to adapt to the environment.

Because in protection work, context defines the skillset.

Structured Communication in Protective Operations

Mostly, private protection does not operate with military-grade encryption or government infrastructure, it operates with structured protocols, disciplined teams, and the right information architecture.
In the field, we operate with clearly defined communication layers.

· A tactical channel for the on-ground team, movements, positioning, immediate coordination. Clear. Direct. No delay.
· A management channel between the team lead and headquarters, situation reports, escalation, strategic updates. No operational noise. Only decision-level information.
· A client or partner channel, key updates at the right moment. Reassurance without unnecessary exposure.

Three layers. Three purposes. Zero confusion.

Operational exposure often occurs outside official groups, through informal conversations, unnecessary photo sharing, casual updates to external contacts, or well-intentioned reassurances sent through uncontrolled platforms.

A mission can remain technically encrypted and still become vulnerable through uncontrolled human communication. In private protection, communication control means defining not only which channels are used, but also what is allowed to be said, shared, or forwarded, and to whom.

Information discipline is not about secrecy. It is about protecting operational integrity.
At IPS BODYGUARD, communication protocols do not stop at the application level. They define structure. They define behavior. They protect the mission.

Executive protection does not begin on the ground. It begins with intelligence.

Digital risk mapping is a key part of that process. Before any deployment, we analyze a principal’s digital footprint to reduce potential exposure. Public appearances, conference announcements, tagged locations, media coverage, and even seemingly harmless social media activity can collectively reveal patterns that expose routines or behavioral indicators.

Individually, these data points may appear insignificant. When connected through open-source intelligence and structured data analysis, they can reveal invisible exposures that increase vulnerability. Identifying these signals early allows us to adjust protective posture before digital information translates into operational risk.

A situation can be secure on the ground while already exposed online. Modern protection requires understanding how the digital and physical spheres intersect.

Security today is predictive. It is built on anticipation and disciplined preparation.

At IPS BODYGUARD, intelligence precedes action.

Professional Protection In Motion

Busy streets, public entrances, dynamic surroundings. Every movement requires focus, awareness, and precise coordination. Close protection is built on trust, discipline, and seamless teamwork that allows the principal to move freely and confidently.

At IPS BODYGUARD, we operate with composure, anticipation, and complete commitment to those under our protection. We create conditions where security provides peace of mind and and freedom to focus on what truly matters.

At IPS BODYGUARD, continuous training is a non-negotiable standard.

Laurent and his team conducted structured shooting exercises and advanced VIP protection simulations designed to replicate high-pressure, real-world scenarios.

Executive protection requires more than presence. It requires:
• Scenario-based emergency response training
• Precision under stress
• Coordinated tactical deployment
• Disciplined team communication
• Controlled extraction and threat management

Our agents undergo regular operational training to ensure preparedness in dynamic and unpredictable environments.

For corporate leaders, diplomatic entities, and high-profile individuals, protection is about anticipation.

Speed draws attention.
Consistency avoids it.

In Executive Protection, vehicle selection is not a logistical detail, it’s a security decision.

Choosing identical vehicle types and neutral colors:

• Reduces visual tracking
• Blends naturally into local traffic
• Avoids signaling importance
• Lowers the risk of unwanted attention

Discretion is achieved through normality, not dominance.
The smartest transport strategy is the one nobody remembers.
