Hellen Westerhof is Luigi Colani's last master student and, like him, has a passion for everything that can be designed. She also passes on his design philosophy to students as a university lecturer.

Active as a designer worldwide alongside Colani:
Westerhof knew the now-deceased designer for 15 years and worked by his side. She accompanied him to China, where she served as his creative director. Colani was celebrated in China, his master student recalls, as a personality like him was revered as a master there.

We used a straight graphic language as a permanent contrast to the brands natural materials

Created a gift box, silk paper, and sticker seals for luxury brand Chalet Affair based in Frankfurt, Germany. Box comes in exclusive cardboard materials and stamped with gold foil. Inside of the boxes are decorated with patterned silk paper that is sealed with a custom sticker message. This project combines the expertise and materials of 5 different suppliers and craftspeople – all made in Germany.

New booth for Chalet Affair Bespoke Collection - shown at Maison Objet Paris in January 2018 ▫️💈◽️ Our goal was to connect the historic and contemporary, and engage multiple accessories. The modular concept we created is founded on the natural math system ‚golden ratio geometry’. Chalet Affair's handcraft products now riff on pure function.

This includes working with interior designers for the hospitality sector, private residences, galleries and other settings.
