The Bells of Notre-Dame de Paris ring out this evening, marking the one year anniversary of the fire that devastated the Cathedral. The second largest bell in France, dating since 1681, named the great Bourdon Emmanuel, rings out, honouring the healthcare workers of France battling the coronavirus covid-19.

I have a passion for creation at all levels. "Life has thorns, like the stem of a rose. Culture and art are the roses that bloom on the stem. The flower is yourself, your humanity. Art is the liberation of the humanity inside yourself.” ― Daisaku Ikeda

The Musée du Louvre will be hosting The Vitruvian Man, starting on October 24th-yet with a lot of concern by Art curators and legal actions by concerned parties. Brought from Italy’s Gallerie dell’Accademia in Venice to the Louvre for Leonardo’s 500th anniversary, this 1492 sketch cannot be exposed to light for extended periods or it will risk having to be locked -up for 10 years for rehabilitation. The Vitruvian Man is Leonardo da Vinci's own reflection on human proportion and architecture, made clear through words and image. This “Universal Man' represents the beauty, complexity, and symmetry of the human frame. It also represents da Vinci's passion for the Art, the Science and the Philosophy of the medical field. The Vitruvian Man is accompanied by notes based on the work of the Roman architect Vitruvius. The drawing, which is in ink on paper, depicts a man in two superimposed positions with his arms and legs apart and inscribed in a circle and square.Marcus Vitruvius Pollio 80–70 BC –was a Roman author, architect, civil engineer and military engineer during the 1st century BC, known for his multi-volume work entitled De architectura.Leonardo da Vinci was described by his early biographers as a man with great personal appeal, kindness, and generosity. #

Just to remind everyone that the Louvre Museum is open evenings until 9:45pm every Wednesday and Friday, & every 1st Saturday of the month the entrance is free from 6pm-9:45pm. I was in front of the Louvre for this occasion 2 weeks ago, enjoyed a glass of champagne at Cafe Marly- which I highly recommend if you visit, why?— for its best views of this place of great heritage. (The Louvre was originally built as a fortress in 1190, reconstructed in the 16th century to serve as a royal palace. ... The National Assembly opened the Louvre as a museum in August 1793 with a collection of 537 paintings. Wikipedia). . See clip abt my view
