[NEWS] ♻️ Did you know why R&M International is betting on recycled carbon fibre?

The US family-run recycling specialist has acquired Vartega’s patented carbon fibre recovery technology and the capability to produce up to 1,000 tonnes of recycled carbon fibre per year.

The technology turns recovered carbon fibre into EasyFeed Bundles, designed to replace virgin carbon fibre in thermoplastics, particularly used in automotive applications.

“Carbon fibre is one of the most valuable materials there is to keep in circulation,” says R&M co-owner Stephen Rawson.

[NEWS] Did you know that wood could be as strong as steel or concrete?

Strong by Form, a deep-tech startup based in Spain that is developing ‘Woodflow-core’, a wood-based panel which, according to the company, offers strength equivalent to that of steel and concrete while being around 80% lighter, has just announced the first tranche, totalling €5.8 million, of its €10 million Series A funding round. The startup had been the Sustainability winner of JEC Composites Startup Booster in 2025.

[NEWS] For the first time, the International Institute for FRP in Construction (IIFC) dedicated a session to women in the field during the 17th International Symposium on Fibre-Reinforced Polymer Reinforcement for Concrete Structures (FRPRCS17), held from 6 to 8 July 2026 at the University of Girona in Spain, which brought together researchers and industry professionals from Asia, Europe, North America and Australia.

With women representing just 21% of participants, “Women in FRP” explored the challenges behind the numbers — from career progression and access to funding to motherhood, mentorship and leadership.

Researchers and industry professionals from around the world also shared practical ways to help more women build, sustain and advance their careers in FRP.
