As Ukrainians endure another freezing winter, the European Parliament has just approved a €90 billion EU loan for the country. The EU and its Members States are by far the largest donor to Ukraine.

On 1 January, Bulgaria joined the euro area, becoming the 21st country to adopt the euro. 💶
In partnership with DG ECFIN, France 24’s programmes Ici L’Europe and Talking Europe include an 8-minute reportage on how the transition to the new currency is shaping up, as well as interviews with Commissioners Valdis Dombrovskis and Ekaterina Zaharieva.
🗨️ Reporters from FRANCE 24 were in Bulgaria during the first weeks of the transition, speaking to various actors of change on the ground.
