On 6 septembre 2024, the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission made a decision to amend the technical regulation of the Customs Union of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) CU TR 005/2011 on the Safety of Packaging. The decision will come into effect on March 5, 2025.

Under the Egyptian Ministry of Industry and Trade it is the General Organization of Export and Imports Control (GOEIC) that regulates the certification requirements for imported goods.

GOEIC certification covers a wide range of consumer products, including, but not limited to, electrical and electronic devices, textiles, footwear, leather goods and cosmetics (regulated products). Therefore, the Certificate of Conformity must be issued prior to customs clearance.

Before placing goods on the market of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia any manufacturer must ensure that they have undergone a conformity assessment procedure within the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization SASO .

Exporters have to register online on the SABER platform to obtain a Product Certificate of Conformity and a Shipment Certificate or to request and obtain a Self Declaration and a Shipment Certificate for goods not covered by any SASO Technical Regulation.
