Gigantica has been named fittingly, to represent the huge carp that swim within its depths. The lake has already exceeded our wildest expectations. When we took over the lake in 2008, it was badly managed, too many anglers, uncomfortable swims, poor facilities, rigs and baits dropped by boats, and the fish had nowhere to hide, coupled with poor quality bait being introduced. The transformation in

the last few years has to be seen and experienced to be believed. Our long-term goal was to create a fishery with just giant carp, this dream is becoming more of a reality with every passing year. Gigantica is and will always be a serious carp water for the dedicated carp angler wishing to fish a ‘proper’ lake with plenty of room. Since our ownership of the venue we have even dropped the maximum number of anglers down from 26 to only 12. The reformation of this wonderful lake has seen fish experience huge growth rates, with several fish gaining as much as 15lbs between captures. With an estimated 600 carp present there are plenty to go at, however the quantity is still somewhat unknown, with previously unrecognised carp to over 50lbs still popping up every now and again. The Gigantica carp are no ordinary carp, the calibre of these fish is not to be mistaken as anything other than perfect. The lake has a very large head of big, plated mirrors of up to around 60lbs, something you rarely see abroad and a cause for excitement. These scaley carp are mothered by their larger, more leathery companions, the real old brutes of the venue with several having reached weights of over 80lbs, with the jewel in the crown The Immaculate Common now exceeding 90lb’s. The list of big fish is growing by the day, and in a short space of time it has established itself as the ultimate holiday venue in Europe. Comfortable fishing for huge, catchable carp, in stunning surroundings. Gigantica also offers great facilities, courtesy of the on-site bailiff team. So with the Main Lake closed to give the carp a rest after spawning, it’s giving us a chance to also get some work done around the lake, but more importantly letting these fantastic carp have a good rest and a healthy feed and they’re loving it! Ben’s been out there giving them a good hit of a top quality pellet we get from our friends at Aller Aqua 😎

100+lb common who’s next?

🐋 The Best of Last Week! 🐋

🥇First up, in Alcatraz we had Callum who managed to beat his PB with 'Pearly Linear' at 58lb, and 'Makers Mark at 47lb 8oz the biggest of 11 fish.

🍏 Next door in Pole Position, we his good friend Matt, who landed 8 to 57lb 8oz with his biggest being 'Centurian' also having 'Apple Slices' at 45lb 4oz.

🎟 In The Alamo we had Charlie who raked his own spot out in the w**d and landed 10 fish with his biggest being 'James' at 50lb.

🩵 Over in Shingles we had Phil and Emily who had 'The Grey' at 56lb 6oz.

💎 Gav was fishing Bacheliers and landed 15 with his biggest 'Diamond Geezer' at 54lb 8oz.

🧀 Lastly, Lee was in Turtles and landed 'Quaver' at 49lb 2oz.

A tough start over on the Main Lake with the fish starting to spawn on the Sunday, but the lads kept their heads and ended strong, while Road picked up in numbers after their go the other week, with fish coming out all around the lake.

🩵💙 In Loving Memory of Jacqueline D. Eastwood 💙🩵

Last week we had the pleasure of welcoming friends of Gigantica, David and Daniel Eastwood. Whilst on their trip, they took a day out to give their memorial bench a fresh coat and talk about some memories.

Here's a few words from David:

"Some places become more than just places.
Gigantica became somewhere my wife Jacqueline and I loved, somewhere filled with peace, happiness and memories that will always stay with me.

Since losing her in 2019, this bench has become far more than just a memorial. It’s somewhere visitors can sit quietly, reflect, laugh and enjoy this amazing venue, just as we always did.

Whenever I return, I make sure I spend some time looking after it, rubbing it down and giving it a fresh coat of varnish. Not because I have to, but because it matters to me. It’s my way of keeping her memory alive.

Thank you to Mr Fairbrass for allowing it to have a place on the lake, and a special thank you to the team at Gigantica for allowing her memory to remain part of such a special place, where memories can continue to live on."

It's very heartwarming to have Gigantica be a place people feel they want to honour their loved ones and we hope it continues to create great memories for all who use it.

🐋New Main Lake 70🐋

The Welsh Wizard .morgan is on his annual spring trip this week and coming out ball 3 he decided to put himself in Co’s Point. Fishing 31 wraps to the right hand side of the flat oak 🌳

And just this morning, first bite, he’s managed to land Fred at a new top weight of 70lb 8oz, one him and Greg was only talking about yesterday after the draw.

🐋 The Best of Last Week! 🐋

👑 Only one place to start and that's with James in Alcatraz having back to back 70's on the Sunday night first one being 'Pips' at 78lb and the second 'Two Time'

👄 Ryan in Baxter's Hole kicked the week off smashing his current PB by 24lb with 'Lippy Common' at 72lb

🧑🏻‍🦲 Gav Middlebrook was in Co's Point landing 'Wood's Common' at 64lb 8oz and 'The Centurian' at 59lb

🎣 Andy Lewis was in The Stink and caught 'Mammut' at 59lb 12oz and 'Mad Max' at 45lb

🟰 In Pole Position we had Carl who managed 'Equalled' at 47lb

💚 '2 Scale' came out twice to Jack Budd in Turtles Corner at 53lb 4oz and 53lb 8oz

👴🏻 Last up Clive Ryder who fished Dunkerque and landed 'Boilie Head' a couple of ounces short of his PB at 53lb 12oz

🐋 Spotty Leather, New Top Weight, 71lb 4oz 🐋

paid us a recent visit and decided to plot himself into Stock Pond after the swims consistent recent form.

The week didn’t pan out so well with a very cold easterly wind blowing directly at him, but in true Gal style he managed to bag himself one of the Gigantica OG gems. 💎

26.5 wraps to the far margin was his spot of choice, walking round to the gap in the bush and feeding steadily throughout the week with Cell and Banana Cell. 🍌

His go to ⚫️ Black Spot hook baits on a IQ D-Rig done the damage, nailed in the bottom lip and a inch back, she was never coming off 💥

🐋🐋 New Road Lake 60 🐋🐋

Josh Ratford over in Turtles Corner has had a great start to his session this week already landing 9 fish that's included 2x 50's and a new Road Lake 60 going by the name "The Korda Social Common" 🐋

The fish was named The Korda Social Common after being caught on the Korda Social three years on the bounce. 💚

A great common that has put plenty of smiles on anglers faces and one to also add to the tally of very impressive carp that reside in the Road Lake.

There's a total of 17 60lb carp now swimming in the Road Lake with plenty of other upper 50s touching the mark, so who knows what the rest of the year will bring!

🐋 Last Weeks Top Fish 🐋

👁 First up in Tea Party 2 we had Joe Upton who landed 'Eye-Q' at 59lb

🎣 Across the pond in Billy's we had Liam who had 'Missing Link' at 50lb

👑 Over on the Main Lake we had returning Gigantica legend Scott Hesling who caught 'Shakermaker' at 53lb from Stock Pond

🐋 Reg was fishing Alamo and caught 'Gums' at 51lb on the Friday evening

The weather warmed up this week and the fish seemed to be enjoying basking in the sun, with zigs picking up many fish throughout the week.

👑 King of the Road Lake 'Hanson' came out of The Goo to Kurt Butcher at 69lb breaking his PB

💈 Frankie was in Alcatraz having the time of his life with his new PB 'The Dustbin' out of Alcatraz at 65lb 8oz, along with 'Mooney' at 49lb

🎣 Next up we had Ethan over on the Road Lake in Turtle's Corner who had 'The Grey' at 56lb followed by 'TJ' at 62lb breaking his PB twice and both being new top weights gains him two spots on the wall

⏰ Bobby fished Tea Party 2 and also did his PB twice with the biggest being on the final morning, 'Quaver' at 52lb

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Gwion was across the pond in Shingles and landed the cracking 'Samo's' at 52lb
