Right place. Right time. Right machine.

Some things just can’t be automated.

And when the machine feels this good to operate, stopping after “one last scoop” was never really an option. 😉

Some places are simply not made for ordinary machines. 🌿

Deep in a forest. Along a steep coastline. Beside a river. Even next to a busy airport runway.

For W.L. Straughan & Son, these are all part of the job.

The Northumberland-based family business has spent decades working in challenging environments across northern England, using Yanmar Compact Equipment to reach places that wheeled machines simply cannot.

From transporting a giant Gruffalo sculpture through a steep forest to restoring streams, creating fish passes and supporting local biodiversity, their work has one thing in common: making a difference while treading lightly on the land.

Their Yanmar fleet includes the ViO80, C30R TV and C50R TV, helping the team work safely and efficiently on difficult terrain with minimal ground disturbance.

And perhaps the best measure of their work is what remains after the machines have gone: healthier rivers, new habitats and communities coming together. 🌱
