After what has been a very wet start to the year, we have been making the most of a dry spell to plant a new block of Syrah. This reel shows the full process, from the first deep plough to remove any old roots, to the fine tilling of the soil and finally the planting tractor and sled at work.
The baby vines are covered in a protective wax when they go into the ground, which Leo the Labrador found rather interesting! Light rain two days after plantation and warm, sunny 25 degree weather is providing the perfect start to their first growing season.
This Syrah may be used for a number of products in the future - from Sparkling Syrah base w**e to our still Rosé or reds.
