After selling Balogh Sail Designs in 2009 I decided to start Mark Balogh Concept & Design to continue the tradition of the most advanced small craft, kayak and canoe sailing rigs on the planet. Around 2013 I set aside a project of building a 31 foot flying proa to my design for lack of funding. About the same time I was given an opportunity to engineer and to do much of the carpentry on a horse drawn wagon. It is Suzanne's project which she has named Toti Bleu, or blue tortoise. Some photos of this project are in an album. I have enjoyed the project and learned much from the design. I am currently designing the first of a series of ultra light traveling wagons. These wagons, or roulottes as they are called in French, are intended for the adventurous traveler willing to travel with a backpacker's mentality, and wanting to travel places such as mountain fire trails off limits to other more traditional roulottes.

One of the very important early influences on my design philosophy was the opportunity to sail from The US state of Florida to the island of Puerto Rico in 1978 with Russell Brown on the iconic Proa Jzero of Polygor. The simple but robust design left a lasting impression on me that was a perfect counterbalance against my previous experience in designing sails and hardware for one design racing dinghies.
