This year, we planted more than 470 trees and shrubs throughout and around our vineyards as part of our agroforestry and permaculture project.

Why? Because we believe great wine starts with a healthy ecosystem.

New hedgerows, agroforestry trees, and cover crops will help protect our soils, encourage biodiversity, support pollinators, improve water retention, and strengthen the resilience of our vineyard for the future.

The trees are still young today, but they are already helping us shape the vineyard we want to pass on to future generations.

Growing vines, nurturing nature. 🌱🍷

Something new is taking root at Château L’Eperon…

This year marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter as we plant in the middle of May 2 hectares of carefully selected grape varieties: Cabernet Franc, Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Sauvignon Gris… and at the heart of it all, our true passion - Chenin Blanc.

Our limestone-rich soils, a natural treasure of our terroir, offer the perfect foundation for crafting vibrant, elegant white wines. And with white wines capturing more and more attention worldwide, the timing feels just right.

But this is more than a trend. It’s a vision.

Chenin Blanc, a grape we deeply love, will be the soul of an experimental cuvée under the IGP Atlantique.

Planting vines is an act of faith. It’s a promise to the future.

We can’t wait to share this journey with you - from the first buds to the first glass.

Great wine begins long before the first grape appears. Before planting our new vineyard, we first took care of the soil itself. We planted special beans to naturally enrich the earth with nitrogen and precious microelements giving future vines the healthiest possible start. Then we carefully worked the land, deeply ploughing the soil and removing large limestone stones hidden underground. It will helping the young roots grow faster and deeper into the terroir. Only after months of preparation were the new vines finally planted.
