These are tough times for small business’s with work either reduced or non-existent.
I have decided to turn this time into a positive and catch up with my paperwork😜
I spend all year looking after other people’s paperwork and always rush mine last minute🙈
Financial year end for us is 31 March - usually I don’t get a chance to look at it until at least October🙈😡

I was going to start us on Online Software for this financial year, we don’t fit the category of having to yet, but after initial set up, it actually saves time and gives you better tracking on your business throughout the year.

Yesterday, I set up the software, imported the whole of last year into it (was easier than doing my usual spreadsheet!) and we are now ready to go.

So we can do something positive during these uncertain times, which will hopefully help us when we are back to normal, whatever normal will be.

Was 31 March your VAT Quarter? If so, and your turnover is over the £85,000 threshold, your next VAT Quarter will need to be done digitally!!!
DD NOT leave it until the end of June to sort, speak to your accountant now! It takes time to set up and get going!!!

Making Tax Digital - 1 April 2019

The new rules and regulations will apply after this date (if your income is over £85,000), ignoring it is not an option!! If your VAT quarter is due 31 March 2019, your next Return (April, May and June 2019) must be filed the new way. Don’t leave it until end of next quarter before thinking about it!!
