SLIDE. HIDE. SLAM SHUT.

A recent custom flight case designed and manufactured by the team at Trojan Crates.

The brief was to provide secure, organised storage with excellent access, while keeping everything contained within one mobile unit.

The solution includes:
A slam-shut door for quick and easy access
A clever slide-and-hide door, storing neatly inside the case when open — no loose door taking up valuable workspace
Removable Euro containers, allowing individual equipment sets to be taken exactly where they're needed
Custom CNC-cut foam inserts, designed around the individual components for organised protection

Heavy-duty 100mm locking castors for easy movement around the workplace
Stacking wheel dishes built into the top, allowing cases to locate securely when stacked and helping make the most of storage and transport space

Finished in the customer's custom colours, making their equipment quick and easy to identify on a busy work site
It’s a great example of how a flight case can be designed to do more than simply protect equipment — it becomes part of the way that equipment is stored, transported, organised and used.

From the internal layout and foam protection to the access, stacking and colour scheme, the case has been built around the customer's requirements.

🔨 Designed for transport. Built for the job.

📲 We recently had the opportunity to manufacture a bespoke flight case for a customer in the media & entertainment sector, designed specifically to transport and use their SQ-5 Digital Mixer on site.

The brief was clear: the mixer needed to be protected during transport, secure inside the case, but still ready to use as soon as the lid was removed. 💡

To achieve this, we designed the case with a shallow base, allowing the mixer to remain safely seated in position while being operated, without having to remove it from the case.

The lid was then designed around the mixer, with carefully positioned foam packing to hold the equipment securely in place during transport, preventing movement while still allowing quick access when on site.

The final requirement was just as important — the case needed to fit in with the customer's existing colour scheme, Green lid, making it easy to identify their equipment when working on busy sites alongside other production equipment.

A great example of how a bespoke case isn't just about protecting equipment — it's about understanding how the equipment is transported, stored and actually used.
