With Valentines Day at the end of the week I knocked up a wee String board to celebrate.

Based on the statue that stands in the ‘Love Park’ in Phily it’s iconic and these boards would look great on a shelf or on a wall or even sat on a desk, don’t even need to be Valentines related.

This one is 400x400 and is £50. But if you are interested in another size, probably from about 300x300 up to 500x500 / 600x600 then I can make these up before Saturday.

Send me a DM if you are interested (just incase the other half sees 🤫) ❤️

Reunited at last!

Bit dramatic but after 9 days I finally got my bairnies back! Last saw them on the 31st of December. Doesn’t seem a long time, but after the week of snow and no office to go to and very little human contact, me and Bruno are happy to have them home!

We’re having a while night catching up with the Traitors. Massive sofa and everyone is huddled in this corner practically on top of me, I’m bloody roasting! 🤣

So happy be back together again 💙🩷🫶🏼

Happy New Year folks!

Better late than never but been having a really relaxing time over the festive this past 2 weeks and just enjoying some real downtime! And quality family time.

This past week we’ve had an absolute dump of snow in the North-East of Scotland so these are some photos of me and Bruno’s walkies this morning, beautiful to look at but what a pain in the ass to live with!

Anyway, I wish you all the very best for 2026, I hope we all have a happy and healthy year, I am looking forward to making many more pieces for you all and showing you all the pieces I’ve made as Christmas presents and all else throughout the year that I’ve not yet shared.

Thank you all for the support this last year - appreciate every like, comment, share, recommendation and order. They all mean the world to me!

Much love to you all 🫶🏼

A wee (not wee at all) beauty to share tonight and a fair undertaking of a piece!

This beautiful International Case 885 tractor is the recipients pride and joy and was the ideal piece to be incorporated into one of our String & Nail designs for a very special birthday!

We played with ideas of size, but in the end it was decided a piece of 800 x 400 would work well in the space in mind and we wanted to keep it high detail and as true to the tractor as possible. It came right at a busy time for me with gigs and all else on the go so probably took a couple of weeks of hammering and stringing in the evenings and weekends to get it done, so a lot of hours but my goodness I’m chuffed with how it turned out.

To keep the detail in the lettering I used the Cricut machine to print the vinyl lettering, stuck it to some acetate, and it looks fab! Will definitely be a technique I can look to utilise in the future to keep things clear where they really matter!

Happy Birthday to the main man, I hope you loved the piece and I wish you many happy returns.

Would appreciate any likes, comments or shares on this post. Help me get my little business out to the people who haven’t yet discovered me, and of course thank you to everyone who already comments on all my posts and are never shy with the likes and loves, appreciate you all 🫶🏼

A commission made for another repeat customer here, and this time is was Emma who contacted me to make something for her friends wedding gift.

We discussed ideas and I suggested that in the past I have made things based on logos or stylised text from their wedding stationary.

Emma send me the invite she received from Grant and Joanne’s wedding and I knocked up some designed based on it and that was it.

Love the simplicity of this. The logo with the date in simple numerics just hits differently and has ended up with a cracking piece they can display in their home.

Love it! ❤️🫶🏼

Love making stars and this wee beauty was made after Alexander’s little brother was gifted one when he was born.

Over the years I have made many pieces for Alexander and his family - Mum, Cally, is one of my top repeat customers. Chalkboard hearts, off-to-school chalkboards, etc. I think Cally has at least one of every design I make in her house 🤣🫶🏼

Pleasure to make this one to match his wee bro and finally the balance is restored ⭐

Sharing some of the off-to-school boards made for this years new P1s.

I really did love making these and they make such a cool alternative to the shop bought, fill in your own details boards from Tesco / Home Bargains etc. but they just aren’t viable for me to make. There is a ceiling to what people are willing to pay and it’s just not worth the time and effort. Each board probably takes around 12-15 hours to make, really is a labour of love.

It’s something I always loved though, especially drawing all the wee characters and book covers etc.

My kids had them for the first few years of school - Ella-Marie is now in S2 - and they still look as good as the day they were made.

Hope all the P1s have settled into school and are making lots of new friends!

I can’t believe it’s that time of year again and we have hit December! And of course December, along with the good things means 24 day of Elf on the Shelf 🤦🏻‍♂️

We have now had Doobie (our Elf named by 2 1/2 year old Ella-Marie at the time) visit us for the last 10 years and I think this will possibly be the last.

He has done many tricks and treats over the years, and I might share some on this page, will see how we go. This was something ol’ Doobie made up back in 2022 and thought I’d let you see his handywork!

Still can’t believe we’re already into December. Crazy busy week here again this week. Off to see Mumford & Sons in Glasgow tomorrow, then Idlewild on Friday. Saturday is Panto and Sunday is work’s Christmas Party (for the kids). All go all the time…wouldn’t have it any other way 😴

Hope everyone’s managing to get into some kind of festive spirit and had a good start to the week today! 🌲 🎅🏻

This was an idea one of my repeat customers had taken to me to give as a present for a couple of weddings they had over the summer.

I really like the simplicity of the piece. It makes a statement, includes the date for a very important day for the happy couple that they can display somewhere in their house; beside photos of the wedding or on a shelf as a wee reminder to them.

These were A4 size, so around 300mm x 210mm but the perfect little gift, and could suit any major occasion! Tempted to get some of these made up for myself, as they look really good just casually sat on a shelf. They can, of course, be made any size to fit a space or to hang on a wall too.

Give me a shout if you have any ideas. Hope it’s been. Nice weekend and you all have a great week ahead.

Was reminded of this previous make when it popped up on my memories over the weekend.

The detail in this piece was high and although very fiddly to make it was something I really enjoyed making. Lots and lots of nails used to re-create Gary’s car in string & nail.

I am currently working on a similar piece, well maybe not so similar, but it’s automotive but is a much bigger piece. It’s looking good so far but a lot of work, nailing all complete so just about to start on the fun part…the stringing!

Hope everyone’s weeks are going well! Enjoy the weekend when it comes, folks!
