Charity has to sell premises to pay legal costs. A Christian charity in Dundee is facing ruin after being left with a £100,000 bill after losing an employment tribunal.

The charity unfairly sacked its former centre manager who was subsequently awarded over £19,000 after the long running case.

However, the charity has been ordered to shoulder both its own legal costs and the employee’s, totalling almost £100,000.

The tribunal judge, said: “It must have been clear to the respondent from the outset that they would be unable to successfully defend the claim.”

ACVO is a non-profit organisation that supports third sector organisations operating in Aberdeen. The Kickstart Scheme helps employers, by providing funding for them to create job placements for 16-to-24-year olds.

This Government will pay:

100% of National Minimum Wage for 25 hours for a total of 6 months.✅

Associated employer NI contributions.✅

Employer minimum automatic enrolment contributions.✅

Up to £1,500 per job placement for setup costs, support, and training.✅

Employers can spread the start date of the job placements up until the end of December 2021.


We enable Small Businesses who cannot provide a minimum of 30 job placements to access the Kickstart Scheme.

The Kickstart Scheme provides funding to employers to create job placements for 16 to 24 year old on Universal Credit.

The scheme pays 100% of the National Minimum Wage (or the National Living Wage depending on the age of the participant) for 25 hours per week for a total of 6 months.

We assist in supporting you to get a kickstarter if you do not meet the 30 minumum threshold by pooling together a group of business owner requirements and apply on your behalf.
