We’re grateful to see our work in Djibouti spotlighted in this new piece from The Independent, highlighting the country’s leadership in pioneering new tools against the invasive urban malaria vector, Anopheles stephensi. Read here: https://lnkd.in/eUD_QZ6C 🙏🏾

The Djibouti Friendly™ Mosquito Program is led on the ground by Djiboutian institutions and communities, with our partners at the National Malaria Control Program and Association Mutualis out in front.

Together, we’ve now launched a new season of community releases of non-biting Friendly™ mosquitoes, building on last year’s pilots. The goal: extend coverage, deepen evidence and share learnings that will help cities across the region tackle the invasive Anopheles stephensi.

A big part of what’s making this possible is the recent launch Africa's most advanced mosquito production and research facility in Djibouti - an operational hub that’s training local teams, powering releases, and anchoring a Centre of Excellence for medical entomology. 🦟

Looking ahead to 2026, we’re looking forward to working in partnership with local partners to expand Friendly™ Stephensi deployments, taking major steps towards targeted, sustainable, scalable protection of communities from the urban malaria threat spreading through Africa. 🌍
