🏆EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH 🏆

September 2026 - Ben Green! 👏

Ben recently turned 20 and has arguably landed one of the most exciting jobs in the yard! 💪

For many people working in a scrapyard, getting behind the controls of the machines and heavy plant is something to aspire to. Ben joined us as a Machine Operator and quickly found his feet with the Powerhand!

Over the last few months, his skills, confidence and efficiency have grown every day. He’s smashing his daily and weekly targets, and alongside the rest of the team he’s getting through the cars so quickly that the yard is almost empty! 🚗♻️

What really stands out is the pride Ben takes in his work. He looks after his machine and has stepped up ahead of his teammates’ holidays, learning to operate the scrap handler, feed the baler and load wagons, all with care and precision.

Ben, it’s brilliant to see how far you’ve come in just a few months. We’re excited to see what the future holds for you!

Great job, Ben - a thoroughly deserved Employee of the Month! 🏆

🏆 AUGUST 2026 EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH - WAYNE OWEN 🏆

A massive congratulations to Wayne Owen, our latest Employee of the Month! 👏

Our yard has been getting busier throughout the year, and our used parts operation was growing with limited resource.

Wayne rejoined Scrap Local to support Joe and the wider Parts team at a really important time of growth for the business.

There has been a lot of work involved behind the scenes in getting the function properly set up, improving the infrastructure, developing new ways of selling parts and sharing what had become a pretty heavy workload across the team.

Wayne has played a big part in that.

He’s helped get the parts shed set up, introduced additional sales channels and brought a huge amount of vehicle knowledge back into the team.

But what has stood out most is his attitude.

Wayne hasn’t just stuck to the office or limited himself to what would normally be considered his role.

He’s regularly got involved with removing parts, helping vehicles move through the process quicker and supporting the yard team when they’ve needed an extra pair of hands.

During the summer holiday period, when we’ve inevitably been stretched at times with staff holidays, Wayne has also stepped into different roles and helped wherever he could.

He’s fitted back into the team brilliantly.

He’s got banter, always got a smile on his face, he’s considerate towards the people around him and he’s happy to muck in when something needs doing.

That attitude makes a massive difference in a growing business.

The Parts team as a whole has been working incredibly hard and the numbers show just how much activity is going through that side of the business.

Wayne has come in and helped add more capacity, knowledge and support to a function that was already stretched, working flat out...

That’s exactly the sort of teamwork we want to recognise.

Thoroughly deserved, Wayne. 👏

Thank you for getting stuck in, supporting the team and helping us continue improving the way Scrap Local operates.

And obviously, no Employee of the Month is complete without the Scrap Local tutu. 😂🩰
