Things are still being made in the background ready for shop opening. Things have slowed a touch with family life, mostly poorly kids who also take down their parents with their germs! Making coat hangers on a Saturday night just shows how I’ve changed.

Finally got round to making the Halloween sweatshirt I’ve been digitising in the background! I love it 🥰 I’ll get it on my shop today!

Despite the shop build we are still working away in the background getting workwear, school wear and custom items made and sent!

Absolutely loving my new Lil Canine Crew polo tops! 😍 I’m so pleased with how smart and professional they look.

There’s something really nice about putting on your branded workwear and seeing your own business logo there. It’s one of those little things that makes you stop and think, “Wow, I actually built this.” 🥹🧡

Update from today/yesterday. We’ve not been in the shop a lot the last two days due to personal commitments so not a huge amount done. But we have done lots of little jobs, coving, boxing in wiring and touching up paint. All ready for phase two that starts tomorrow, construction of the workshop 🎉

Floor cleaning is not my area of expertise but thanks to searching for lots of videos of others cleaning theirs, I think I nailed it! Any further tips welcome though! Slowly Upper Stitch shop is coming together

How do you feel about a black ceiling? I am trusting the process! Day 2 was neck breaking, painting the ceiling as well as making time to make, package and post some orders. It’ll be a bit quiet for the next couple of days but we will get straight back at it.

PARENTS - would you use this? 👇

The cost of school uniform is a hot topic at the moment, and I think most of us have had that moment of looking at the price of ONE school jumper and thinking… 😳

For primary-aged children, we’re often looking at roughly:

👕 Sweatshirts: £12 - £14 EACH
👕 Polos: £9 - £11 EACH
🧥 Hoodies: £15+ EACH
🧥 Fleeces: £17 - £19 EACH

Yet we can walk into a supermarket and buy perfectly good school uniform for a fraction of those prices.

So, as both a parent of 3 school-aged children AND someone who owns an embroidery business, I’ve been thinking… why can’t we combine the two?

💡 Would you use a service where you buy your own supermarket/plain school uniform, bring it into our shop, and we professionally embroider your school’s logo onto it for £5 per item?

No iron-on badges or patches. The logo would be professionally embroidered directly onto the garment.

To put that into perspective:

4 branded school sweatshirts: £48 - £56

VS

4 supermarket sweatshirts: approx. £8
Embroidery: £20
Total: approx. £28 🙌

That’s potentially £20 - £28 saved on just four jumpers.

I’m currently looking at offering this from our shop opening soon in the village and would genuinely love to know whether it’s something local parents would find useful.
