Sarah Carmichael
Although I initially completed a degree in Psychology and English Literature I then decided I wanted to follow a more practical career and I took a post graduate qualification as a mental health nurse in 2002. I have since worked for 20 years in the NHS in Birmingham both in the community and on the wards supporting people with their recovery. I have experience of working with a w
ide variety of people with both physical health issues and mental health issues including those experiencing dementia. I have the experience and ability to communicate effectively, to support people in a wide variety of situations in their own homes and to access the community. I am an advocate of compassion-based care, with the person at the centre of identifying their own needs and working collaboratively to support them with their needs. Tracy Te Rangi-day
After studying for a degree in Adventure Tourism and working for several years working in the leisure industry I decided to follow my vocation and since I have worked as a qualified community nurse since 2016 in the Derbyshire area following studying at Birmingham University. I have worked with patients and their families to provide holistic, evidence-based nursing practice and have experience in caring for patients with a wide range of acute and chronic conditions including palliative care and dementia. We met each other in 2012 at a baby group - where Tracy was their with her 2 year old son and her 6 month twin boys, and I had my daughter who was also about 2 years old and was pregnant with twins. We believe our experience of managing 3 young children each qualifies us to offer support to new mothers - or mothers with multiple children - whether you need support at home or support to get out of the house. We are now looking to take on a new challenge and adventure building our own business focusing on what we love to do - using our skills and experience to support people to remain independent and to be living their lives to the full potential whilst living in their own homes.
