As you read this post I will be in the air, flying to Spain to surprise my mum for her birthday.
She literally has no idea that I am coming, so I feel a mix of nerves, excitement and more. I hope she's pleased to see me!
The last time I pulled off a big surprise like this was when I flew to Singapore to surprise my best friend for her 40th, over a decade ago.
She thought she was getting a Kitchen Aid as her birthday present, so when she walked into the room and saw me instead, we both burst into tears at the joy of the surprise. It's a memory that will stay with me forever.
Sometimes you just have to take the risk and do the things that will make you happy, put a smile on somebody else's face, create a memory that will last a lifetime, even if you are slightly nervous at the thought of it.
