Training will primarily take place at our purpose built centre in Hampshire, with opportunities to support wider training and consultancy activity as our training division develops.

Why are some security officers not getting paid?

Recent posts on social media from security officers and labour providers claiming they are owed money following a business acquisition prompted our MD Paul to make this short video.

Paul told us: "I don’t know the full facts of those individual cases, and this video isn’t about apportioning blame or commenting on any particular company. What it does highlight, however, is a much wider issue that has existed within the security industry for years.

"Too many frontline security officers are still engaged as “self-employed” and required to invoice for work that, in my view, looks very much like employment. Many don’t fully understand what they’re signing up for or the rights and protections they may be giving up.

"When everything goes well, few people question the arrangement. But when payments stop, a company fails, or a contract changes hands, the consequences can be significant. Those affected may find they don’t have the protections they assumed they did.

"Whether or not the recent cases prove to be linked to self-employment isn’t the point. They are a timely reminder that everyone working in our industry should understand their employment status and ask questions before accepting work.

"The security industry relies on dedicated professionals who deserve to be treated fairly and paid properly. I hope this video helps people understand the risks and encourages informed discussion about an issue that affects us all."
