Christmas is upon us and we have seen the achivement of what most though was impossible. The Knockmore Line is now officially in the works with Translink.

Now we must move swiftly and decisively into 2026 to ensure that the reinstatement of passenger rail services between Antrim and Lisburn are for the people of South Antrim primarily, whilst also being delivered before FTN's desired deadline of 2030.

Merry Christmas, and may God provide Ulster a New Year full of railway prosperity!

This is the same non-answer given to FundTheNINE by the Department for Infrastructure multiple times over now.

‘Within the coming weeks’ means virtually nothing when we should have been given its publication almost 9 months ago.

We need better leadership from the DFI.

The Infrastructure Minister has responded to my open letter calling for clarity and confirmation regarding the Antrim-Lisburn (Knockmore) Railway Line. The more than 1,200 local residents who added their name to this letter highlight just how important the issue is.

The Minister's full response is below. "In the coming weeks" is an improvement on "in coming months" - but it's still not an answer to when we can expect to see the findings.

I will be pushing for a pre-Christmas publication, and asking for the full findings to be shared, not just a summary of the key points.
