We were honoured to welcome Dr Caoimhe Archibald, Minister for the Economy, to Antrim Enterprise Agency this week — a hugely valuable visit that gave us the chance to showcase the vital role AEA plays in supporting enterprise and economic growth right across the borough.

The visit centred on a genuinely open and fruitful discussion about the economic development of our region — the challenges facing local businesses, the opportunities ahead, and how organisations like AEA are working on the ground to turn ambition into action.

We were delighted to present our new strategy, reimagining enterprise support as a full enterprise cycle — walking alongside entrepreneurs and businesses from that first spark of an idea right through to sustainable growth. At the heart of this is the development of enterprise programmes built on three core pillars:

🔹 Personal Development — building the confidence, resilience and skills every entrepreneur needs
🔹 Idea Development — turning concepts into viable, investable propositions
🔹 Business Development — supporting growth, scale and long-term sustainability

This full-cycle approach reflects our commitment to not just starting businesses, but building lasting enterprise success across Antrim and Newtownabbey.
