Introducing the new Calor 5kg Patio gas bottle design...

Following a review of the Calor 5kg patio gas bottle, a new design has been manufactured to make the bottle more environmentally friendly and easier to refurbish.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗱?
The main design change is the red plastic handles have been replaced with a red metal shroud like the larger 13kg patio bottle size.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀?
The benefits of the new design are:
• Removal of plastic, so they’re more environmentally friendly to produce.
• The new bottle is easier to recondition and repair, extending its service life.

𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗯𝗲 𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲?
The new bottles are available from Rent Free Gas Cylinders today.

Of the 5kg patio gas bottles we ordered at the start of the year, around 25% of them will be delivered in the new design. The remaining 75% will be in the original design.

Currently, there are no plans to phase out the original bottle design.

Safety Update: Protect Your Home with the OPSO Valve!

At Rent Free Gas Cylinders, your safety is our top priority.

That’s why we’re taking the time to inform you that an OPSO valve should be fitted to all fixed LPG cylinder installations.

Why is the OPSO Valve important?
The OPSO valve automatically shuts off the gas supply if it detects any unusual pressure build-up, helping to prevent potential safety risks. With this added layer of protection, you can rest easy knowing that your home is equipped with the latest safety technology.

What’s changed?
Since October 2021, every fixed LPG cylinder installation supplied by Calor will have come with a regulator featuring a built-in Over Pressure Shut Off (OPSO) valve. While it’s not a legal requirement, Calor made this essential upgrade to provide the highest level of safety to their customers.

What should you do?
We strongly encourage you to check your current LPG installation and consider upgrading to a system with an OPSO valve if you haven’t already done so. If you know others in a similar situation, spread the word! Together, we can ensure every home stays safe and secure.
